Why am I still feeling sorry for him after he treated me bad during our 29 yrs together?

Josie, it’s hard to let go of the time together. I have decided to divorce my husband of 21 years, he had an on going affair with the same woman and after continued forgiveness from me, he continued to be with her. My husband has a illness, Parkinson’s, so I do feel sorry for because I know the other woman will not leave her husband for mine when I divorce him. He will be alone to have to navigate this illness. And as sorry for him as I feel, I can no longer allow him to treat me with such disrespect. He made his choices, he will have to live with the consequences of his actions. He’s a grown man and knew what he did was wrong, so if he does end up alone, he has no one to blame but himself. So, I can understand and relate, but if your husband treated you badly, you need to get away, save yourself.
