Thank you, fortunately, I have been able to put some money aside and only I have access to it.

Unfortunately, today I called to find a lawyer, they are all 2 months backlogged! The good, is that I made the call. It felt good to make a move. This can be crippling. For 37 years I have made the decision everyday to be married. Now, I am making plans to move on.

I know I am not the only person to be scared. It is my experience that I have to work through. This has been my life, but peace and happiness are important.

One step at a time is all we can do. My lawyer advised me that I needed to make all changes before filing for divorce such as changing my will, changing beneficiaries on my life insurance, getting a credit card and bank account in my own name. I would think looking for a new job while you are waiting is a good idea. Prepare for the things you can control because there will be plenty you can’t control.
