Divorcing after 14 years of marriage. We have one child together. I’ve raised my stepsons for the past ten years. He was always their friend first then parent so I was the enforcer and there was a lot of yelling because it was always the three of them against me. They are in their 20’s now and he is making them do declarations to basically say that I was verbally abusive when they were younger and that I alienated them from family. I am the primary parent for our son and am also the breadwinner by a significant amount. I’m afraid he’s going to try to get custody of our son who is an amazing child and their portrayal of me is exaggerated to say the least. Anyone have experience with this? I’m afraid that using them against me in the initial hearing will result in me not getting my son.
