My ex reached out to me saying that I need to hire my own attorney to file for the divorce. However, he still has an attorney and states that I would need my attorney to send documents to his attorney and not to him. I am working on hiring an attorney and figuring out what is going on. I just feel so confused and in the dark. I have felt this way my whole marriage. Anyways, what is possibly happening? Would I be alerted by my ex's attorney if an uncontested divorce got changed to a contested divorce? Or could anybody think of anything else that may cause me to need an attorney as well?
