I just watched this skit again, and it is so funny. Vicki Lawrence steals it, I think, as "Sissy" aka.. Prissy. I had forgotten that Dinah Shore was in it also as Melody (aka Melanie)..
I saw Vicki Lawrence in person a few years ago here in KC. She was doing a show at a local casino. The first half of the show was basically straight comedienne style. It was pretty raunchy and I was surprised; however, the second half of the show she strolled out as Mama as in "Mama's Family" in the full Mama get-up, and she was fantastic. People were rolling in the aisles. That was a terrific variety show, The Carol Burnett Show. P.S. Carol also made Bernadette Peters famous. She gave Peters all kinds of exposure , singing and dancing on the show.
Vicki also sang "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" in her one woman show..this was her one big hit.
