This is your chance to be a sonar operator aboard a submarine. Once dived and deep underwater you do not always need sophisticated electronic listening gear to hear the sounds of marine life or noises of seabed quakes.
There is always noisy activity going on all the time in our oceans and they are quite audible to the human ear. However, skilled sonar operators are trained to differentiate and identify exactly what those sounds are and where they are coming from and whether or not they present a threat to the submarine.
The noises you mention could be attributed to ocean floor movements sometimes the cause of tsunami's and there is an example of these in clips on this BBC webpage. You can also experience the sound of passing ships and whales. Cut and paste and enjoy.
