Re: Wizz

You can't say that U19 Tier 1 teams are better than prep school teams as a whole, that just isn't true. Maybe you meant to say that there are 8 "top" U19 T1 teams (which would then leave only 1 NEGHL team in your top 8 btw) and you cannot compare those to prep teams? Also, disagree with the U19 T1 NEGHL teams being better than peps as a whole - NEGHL is not a strong league and it is dominated by 2 teams. Those 2 NEGHL teams were in the top 20 for the 21-22 season with the Eagles sitting at #6, Wizards at #10 and you don't see the Breakers and Islanders until #26 and #27. You are saying that a Williston, Nobles, Andover, Loomis, etc. can't compare to an NEGHL U19 T1 team and you are right, but not for the reasons you think.
the notion that Williston Nobles and Andover couldn't compare to 19 NEGHL teams last year is beyond stupid!

Re: Wizz

I disagree that club coaches / directors wont push the college recruiting process. 99% don't but find the right one and commit to the club and process and you would be surprised. Players cant keep jumping clubs chasing banners at 16/19 and think they will get assistance. Be loyal and commit to the process.

Re: Wizz

Genuinely curious as to which clubs/directors are doing a good job - which clubs do a good job?

100% this

Re: Wizz

Their development model is great. Focused on improving skills and transfer to games. Added bonus of not having to travel all over New England on a Sunday for a meaningless NEGHL game.

get back to us when you get in the State Tournament

Re: Wizz

Ha ha - yea cause that's what its all about - BANNERS. Steal everyone else's talent to make super teams to win States while all your dedicated long term families are pushed down to the 3-5 teams. Not developing hockey players. For what its worth I believe they are eligible this upcoming season.

Re: Wizz

Can confirm that they will be eligible for teams to play in States/Nationals. Hope they keep the the focus on development - that's more important. Chasing a State/National title - the juice doesn't seem to be worth the squeeze in the end.

So they train 10 weeks leading up to their prep season? Do they play games? Sorry, I know nothing about the model and I am trying to learn. It must be hard as heck getting from prep school to Haverhill a couple times a week Sept-November No?

Re: Wizz

It is by invitation only. They train on Sundays at the same time every week. One hour on skills development followed by a one hour scrimmage. They put a team in at NAHA and also run fall showcases and will invite other teams like Northwood and CT Polar Bears to play.

99% don't help, which is about right, and there are about 50 prep teams.....maybe there is 1-2 coaches that really help. Boys prep hockey is no different.

Re: Wizz

Well over 50% committed to these colleges before they ever went to play for Lil Fuss the mute.

100% the prep schools feeding the top club teams. the wizards are benefiting immensely being located whwre they are. It is not the skill development and the non-daddy coaches. Williston, St Pauls feed the wizards. Choate and Williston feed the polar bears. Just to name a few. When we went for our tours and interviews the question about club came up and both coaches confirmed that club coaches are holding or opening spots for players from these schools. So thats why the quality is consistently high at these clubs. Used to be Assabet but CG’s toxicity put an end to that.
