Yay, your tier 1 team is better than other program’s tier 2. You should be proud and it’s a great lesson for your kids! Last year you guys were tier 1 and it didn’t go well so… if at first you don’t succeed… cheat!!
If others moved there 2-3 2009 from tier 1 to tier 2 Warriros would still be the best 2009 team in MA. It follows how the boys do it. Major and Minor teams.
Single birth year makes sense if your competition does the same thing and your organization doesn't want to hang onto players that haven't developed at the exact same pace as everyone else. Otherwise, it's a play to try and stack a team at one age group to prep for next year.
I understand trying to add new rules to the game of monopoloy to try and make your lackluster play work better for you, but it does not change the fact that free parking, just like in the real world, does not pay you money. Just buy the orange and red properties and stop trying to act like baltic is as good as park place just because they both only have two spaces.
Not sure what the big deal is? Last year the Vipers, Spits, BJE all had strictly 13 Y/o clubs that played in tier 2. No one was *****ing then. The Wizz tier 2 was 80% 08s last year. There are rules in place regarding how many tier 1 games you can play if you are a tier 2 team. If you want to play more then you don't get to parti****te in states which means you are sitting home from Nats. What else are people upset about? VJW has a decent 09 club. Big deal. They aren't going to run with the best Tier 1 clubs. Move on
It all goes back to NEGHL and E9 not getting along. NEGHL members sit in high ranking postions on Mass Hockey board. Only people who are losing here are the girls.

The big deal is that they are trying to double dip. They want to play a tier 1 schedule, but call themselves tier 2 so they can play tier 2 states. No one cares if they are a U13 team, the issue is that if they play a tier 1 schedule, even if they don't dominate, they are still playing at a faster level than the tier 2 teams that they would play at states and that would give them an unfair advantage.

Any T2 team that plays over certain % of their games (around 40%) against T1 teams is disqualified from playing T2 states/nationals. This will work itself out.

Exactly, so why is everyone getting their pants in a bunch? There are already rules in place and MA hockey already knows what's going on. Move on

Just keeping a light on this dark corner of the game so that Mass hockey doesn't miss it when the time comes. If everyone is still talking about it then Mass hockey will have no choice but do to the right thing, but if we let it drop well... As someone pointed out before, this isn't the first time that SG has pulled this and last time he got away with it and actually won a national title by doing so.
What color jersey do you think the VJW will wear when they win Mass states this year? My guess is white since they will be the 1 seed.
Such a waste of time. No one cares about # 2 hockey and they can't beat any good #1 teams.
Yup. Will be just like the Vipers last year. Win Nattys at tier 2 with 13 year olds, bring the whole team up to tier 1 this year and they completely blow. Can't beat anyone.
It seems like people care about VJW T2 team as they have a dedicated thread for them.
I think there are many people who do care as it’s a very good team and other competing teams from local leagues don’t like to see success outside of their league. It’s exactly why the NEGHL put in the new rule in August that no NEGHL teams can play E9 teams. It’s too bad, especially if you have 2 teams that are willing to play.

Bingo. It's very strange to me how much people care so much about a league and get upset to see a team not in their league win. It's like the success of a team in a league different than their own has a direct effect on their team. It doesn't! If you play for a certain team you also don't get to brag when another team wins just because they're in your league. So bizarre.

The only people posting on the plus side are the VJW dads and the negative is the Wizz, Spitfire and BJE parents. This subject should get real interesting at playoff time.

I can honestly say my kid is not on any of those teams you just mentioned. I still find it weird that people are so obsessed with a league. worry about your TEAM, your PLAYERS and your COACHES.
I think if you look on the internet wayback page search engine that the NEGHL has had the rule in place on their rules page for a number of years. Not a new rule for sure

It's tier 2. Take all the top 09s off the tier 1 teams and what would you have? A good team. Let's not over think it.
Put the rule in place in August? You must be new to this.
When was it put in? If that’s the case then how did all VJW teams play in the Islanders Xmas tournament the past 2 years? SW was more than happy to have them join. If it was a rule last year then she should have been severely fined and reprimanded. Again, NEGHL will make the rules as they go so they don’t look bad. How bout that Wizards team that has multiple players from different organizations join to make a super team. Keeping it within the rules, huh?

Pretty sure they played as NA Elite, no? Also, SW is who you’re claiming to be up on the NEGHL rule book? Comical.
Did not go in as NA Elite. Check my hockey rankings from last year and you will see all of the games the VJW won in that Islanders Xmas tournament. They are listed as VJW
My guess is that there are not enough tier 1 girl's teams that are willing to play in those tourneys, so they make exceptions to rules so the tournament can still happen. My hockey rankings has wiz u12 tier 1 playing vjw this past weekend. Someone has money to burn on fines.
That VJW / ECW U12 game was a league game scheduled by the Valley League so its allowed. Neither team scheduled the game.
There are 16 teams in the ECW tournaments. I think they can abide by the rules and only collect 15 $2000.00 tournament fees.
The 5 2009 on Wiz T1 stack up with the top 2009 on Warriors. They would offset each other and it would be a good game.
Yea OK.
I hope you are talking about just the 09s because that Wizz 1 team would run over that VJW team like a freight train. We beat VJW 4- 1 and Wizz beat us 5 -0.
Does the E9 have rules about rosters? Who can/can’t play for certain teams? How many games they can play in within an organization before the player becomes permanent? Seems like they have open rosters and certain kids that just move up and down depending on need.
