Whats the allure with girls from out here deciding to go to Shattucks lately?
My middle one went to SSM when we lived out there and my youngest is in prep here now. Completely different models. Shattucks is hockey, hockey and more hockey. 16/19 play a grueling tier 1 schedule reaching 70 games. I thought the coaches were good and you couldn't beat banging heads with the best in the country nearly every weekend. The school part is the problem. I found the academics to be severely lacking. The avg ACT score was worse then my local public high school. At that time it was 55 for school and an extra 16 for hockey. No different then prep prices here. As everyone knows here it's the split season model which I don't like as much. Much bigger emphasis on other sports as well and you play far less games and overall far less top level competition. As far as academics there is zero comparison. NE prep is so far beyond SSM it's not funny.
That's my 2 cents. I don't have any idea why someone from this area would go all the way to SSM when there are great options right here with a far better education.

That's easy, that's because EVERY male hockey player is going pro and EVERY female hockey player there is going to the Olympics. Sheesh, I thought everyone knew that. So why would you go to Groton or Middlesex where you have an excellent chance of getting into an amazing college, and make very important contacts while at school, when you could go out there and end up at Bemidji State University???? Don't be a dope...
