Took in the Winchester / Hingham game and it appears they've righted the ship and are ready to make a run for another title. Mixed schedule with some good teams and some not so good teams so they should qualify for the tournament.
It appears for a public school they seem to have a lot of depth and look like they can roll four lines. Top-end talent like other years may not be there but what they miss with quality they make-up with quantity. It helps having BA based in your home rink!
The coaching staff should send Tim & Joe a gift basket every year!
Today's Pope Francis game will mean a lot come Super 8 committee time. Hope its on myhockeylive!
Nope. 4-1 loss, welcome to the D-1 tournament again.
And that's all she wrote. The Super 8 dreams are buried finally. And if you do the math they aren't as good as last year.
Saw the game and it's obvious they lost a lot from last year's squad but have a lot of good young talent. Coaches, time to start making the calls for your seniors & juniors.
AP had a good strategy. Have their smallest player skate around mouthing off and slashing to draw a 4 minute penalty and score a couple times.
So coaches,BCH hammered Arlington Catholic 8-0 in the final....so does Hingham really want to be a low Super 8 seed or just play for the State Public School Championship???
Today's 2-1 loss to the Spy Ponders should finally put an end to what we knew after 2-3 games and welcome back to the D-I South and the State Public School Championship.
Four of their five goals coming from Defensemen last night? I'd say when the chubby guy screams "POINT! POINT! POINT!" from the bench you better get the puck back to the POINT! POINT! POINT!
4-2 'winners' vs. Arlington in the Super 8 play in game. Lose, scrappy game, not too structured, position play lacking but they bring a lot of players. 4+ lines 6-7 defensemen. Next up is Pope Francis
Come on boys! Give them a game!
Over/under is 10 total goals in game. Any takers? I've got the over--9-2.
Kind of a head scratcher. Earlier in the season they played out in Springfield and it was a competitive game. 2-1 then a phantom penalty call which you always expect out there, PP goal 3-1 and then an empty netter 4-1. Now you watch them play and the forwards are all over the ice chasing the play, the defense is simply puck-watching and packing it in in front of the goalie, the goalie is seeing nothing but quality shots, everyone is losing every battle along the boards. Where did they go? Seems the lacrosse season has started early for the boys.
Isn't the game today @ 5:00pm? I know some of the parents in the town were chatting last summer that they thought last years success saved the coaching staff their jobs after some pretty horrible seasons and they might be right. The word was the style of play that they expect doesn't fit well with what the kids learn at the various programs they play the rest of the year. The old 'throw it off the glass and chase it' isn't exactly what Boston Advantage teaches.
Game was switched to Thursday.
