Braintree, Framingham, Weymouth, and Wellesley all play in the same conference and are in the top 20 but get no negative reactions. Their scoring differential is off the charts so therefore they are not just beating up on inferior competition, they are dominating them. Walpole's goalie played unbelievable in that loss to franklin last year. Sounds like there are a lot of issues with the coach which gets passed on to the team/players.
A few of the kids and their parents are also extremely arrogant. Total soft schedule coupled with idiot coach, even more of an idiot assistant coach, and town politics. They have two good lines and then literally nothing after that. Coach has major ethics issues. Personally and professionally.
I've been to Handful of Walpole games over the last two years and one thing they aren't is cocky. I've never heard a parent talk like they are CM from the 90's. They understand they are a baseball and football town BUT when the hockey team plays well you have to give credit where credit is due.

Not sure about unbelievable. Had one good save on a breakaway. Other than that, left a LOT of rebounds out front, but Franklin had no one that could finish. Go watch the tape again.

Because they are being rated on the past. That conference is so soft now, there really isn't a high caliber team in it. They just play each other, so bad teams get good records because they beat up on the really bad teams. This was proven last year when not one of those teams made it to D1 semis, even though that conference had the most teams in the tourney.
The state tournament is hard for many programs to advance through and maybe that isn't the accurate measure. You have teams that lose in the play-in round come down, you have regionally recruited catholic teams, you have D-I independent powerhouses that play a C.C. schedule, you just bigger and better teams you're facing. But the guys point has always been, why not play better competition throughout the season?
Same size town and hang him, same number of kids that show up for tryouts as Hingham, big difference in skill. Why? Development. Clearly. Obviously not developing their junior high and freshman players. Afraid to play good teams. It's a shame. Coach should be fired.
Actually, from Franklin, but their goalie is good enough to have a game where he stands on his head and they beat a better team. They would get hammered in the S8 but I wouldn't be shocked if they win a play in game
Play in game? First the selection committee will look at their 'quality wins' and let's see....they have a tie against Framingham and a game this week against Braintree. Other than that there really isn't a game they can point to because they don't play anyone. The schedule says "we're D-I tourney material at best' and you're talking Super 8. A play-in game they would get run out of the building.
Just 'stay in your lane' and gun for the D-I. That's why you play a cupcake schedule. Get a win or two against some lower seed and get killed by a higher seed and everyone is happy.

What happened to them last year?
And they had a better overall team.
But, I agree. Their undefeated season will force the slobs at MIAA to give thema play-in game, which they will lose. Then they will drop into D1 tourney, and make it through the first round or two, then lose again.

From Franklin? Well good for you.
Although that does give you the right to make this comment, seeing as the kid you had last year threw that team on his back. Back to reality this season though.
I must say I went to the Walpole Braintree game last night and now can see how Walpole is having such a great season. Sure the Bay State isn't as strong at the top as it was last year but this team looks pretty good. Not sure if they are State champions good since their are lots of good teams but they'll compete with most.

Don't sleep on Wellesley.
Lol...I did too and saw 2 mediocre teams with 1 decent goalie. They are out of the tourney by round 3 at the latest.
Wow all the negativity. Are you this grumpy everyday about everything? Like when it's 80 in the summer you're like what the heck why isn't it 85. Gotta find some positives in your life and enjoy it. Bashing 15-18 year kids all day isn't the way to live.
I think your level of what is acceptable here is - would you be happy to see some slanderous things (there haven't been any convictions, right?) posted here about your son's drinking or drug use? Think about it.
They are in big trouble next year. Rink/Express owner forcing them out and starting u18/16 teams that will use late afternoon ice. Enjoy those 5am practices.

"Braintree and Framingham are the cream of the crop"...hahahahahaha!
What year coach, 2012? They are dogs this year, have been for a few years.
