Re: Super 8 Decision Today

MIAA loves the publics and the $ the gate will bring!

If this were true Arlington and Hingham would not be playing in round 1 .

Seems like they cant wait to get one of these teams out quick as to lower the chance of a public beating a private ...

Move Hingham to 6

You are missing the point!! Arlington and Hingham belong but the others do not! Not even close!!

Top team to Bottom team, the privates are stronger. Have Hingham and Arlington participate in the Public tournament. They are likely to meet each other in the final and can play the winner of the private tournament. This way Apples to Apples, Oranges to Oranges and then finally Apples to Oranges. In many cases the publics will win in the end.

Not sure why the MIAA doesn't see this. Don't tell me its about money. They can still generate the same amount of money, extend things out and possibly create a rivalry. It will also keep more kids from leaving public high school and encourage the high school programs to do exactly what the coach from Arlington is doing.

End of the day, Minnesotta does it right! Here, we cannot get anybody to cooperate with anything and do whats best for the whole.

Agree , but what Minnesota does right starts at age 5 ...... You play where you live or the closest town . Also look at the UM roster , would be eye opening for some around here to look at it ....

Plus most kids skate more than 50% of the time outside & many of their games are played at local outdoor rinks in their parks. Apples to oranges.

it is certain mindset, just as the Swedes, Finns, Canadians, etc have. We would do well to pay attention and emulate. Doesn't mean we could replicate but certainly learn from and improve on. Too bad youth hockey has become a big business as opposed to a Community thing.
