So the geniuses that run the MIAA voted to expand the time for minor penalties from 1:30 to 2:00 like everywhere else but voted 15-1 to keep the periods at 15 minutes instead of expanding it to 17 minutes? I'd love to hear the reasoning behind it.
Kids move onto college hockey and it's 20 minute periods. Or think of it as an additional full period from their 15 minute games they have been playing.
Yeah...about $30 - $40 per game and over a 20 game season it's....$600 - $800 B.F.D.
You would probably cut down available ice time by 1/3 over the course of a day.
So it's much more of a cash loss than you're estimating.
I'll go and try to rent 6 minutes of ice time and I'll let you know if it's more than $40. . . . D-I should be playing that at least.
So at the majority of rinks where the net comes off it's mooring at least a couple times a period, play stops, change lines, line them up for a face off, drop the puck then wouldn't it make economic sense under the "6 minutes per game is too expensive" for this rinks to spend a couple hundred dollars to install a reasonable anchoring device?
