The big kid went later than Central Scouting had him listed but the big news is....he got drafted! Little shocked to see so few local kids. The Globe had only 5-6 kids listed in the Sunday Globe. Less than one per round. And to see the Bruins look outside of Comm. Ave. & Cambridge for players was a bit 'worldly' of them! Maybe there's hope for the B's once they learn from their fat contracts for aging veterans and no-trade clauses they hand-out like party favors.
An analyst made the point the us players are riskier in later rounds because of the expiring rights in college. If you are drafted past round 3 or 4 then a us player is more prone to stay in school and come out as a free agent after school. Feel free to debate.
True. With regard to the goalie Petruzelli, he went a little later than expected but as it usually goes with the goalies, they went in bunches. The goalie frenzy started a little late after BU kid and it seems that may have effected where KP went.
