St Sebs plays Catholic Memorial in a charity game every year. Last year Sebs won 5-1. Not that it is an absolute but it might be a good indication of the difference. Do other preps play high schools ? What is the recent history (last 5 years) of that Sebs / CM game?
Are you asking how the best kids from the collective groups would do in a three game series? I'm sure it would be competitive with only the top players participating but the prep schools would win in a series.
It wouldn't be that close if the the individual teams played every team from the opposite grouping. In general, the catholic/public teams do not have the depth of teams to compete from top to bottom in the groups you referenced.
In another way of putting it....any team from the Prep school list can be beat each other and beat the top teams in the Catholic/public list. Not true the other way around.
Agree 100%. Just saying the best kids from each grouping would have a "somewhat" competitive 3 game series....really a two game series.
Delbarton VS Prep and CC teams:
2016-11-19 14:00 Berkshire School 1 - 3
2016-11-20 10:00 Dexter School 1 - 6
2016-12-17 17:30 Malden Catholic HS 2 - 1
2016-12-18 11:00 St Johns Prep 3 - 0
2017-01-25 17:45 Lawrenceville School 3 - 0
2017-02-04 16:00 Brunswick School 3 - 1
2017-02-07 17:00 Hill School Prep 3 - 1
2017-02-10 20:00 Pope Francis HS 4 - 1
Two years ago Delbarton tied Berkshire and Brunswick and beat Dexter 3-2. Beat CM 2-0.
Clearly Prep School is better and Delbarton is a lot closer to Prep than it is to Mass CC.
Mass CC is closer to some of the middle to lower Independent and New England Preps and even then Prep will likely be deeper.
this sounds like the EHF Vs E9 Vs BHL all over again!!
The PrePrep Showcase is an absolute total waste of time for goalies as they put 3 goalies on every team.
I'm not a Mensa Association guy but my guess is it's because the top MIAA kids either do a P.G. year at a prep or move on to a junior team. And the minute they commit the discussion from the college coaches is moving along...for all of them.
