Re: Crimson Combine

Nice donation to the crimson coaches

Re: Crimson Combine

Here's the write-up from self proclaimed 'scout' Jeff Cox. Seems he's still stuck on defensemen who don't defend but chose to be the 4 forward -

Yes, that's the Flavor Of The Month. Look at all the interest in Will Butcher. But, the new crop of D coming up do that, and have good size.

Common denominator from that write up is that the Jr. Eagles acquitted themselves nicely huh?

I don't have an 03' nor am I an Eagle parent, but that is a well attended and well run combine. Eagles all over the place.

Not bad press for that organization

It is funny how traditional stay-at-home defensive defensemen absolutely help midget / high school / colleges win but it's the skate all over the ice and attack the offensive zone, get caught behind the offensive goal line, shoot first players that everyone gets all excited about. If you want to win give me defensemen, if you want to pull your hair out and sit on the edge of your seat for an hour every night then move a few of the better skating forwards back to the blue line and call them defensemen.

Re: Crimson Combine

Agree 100%. Size, skating, gap control, cover in front of the net and a great outlet pass wins games. The rest is just showboat stuff that all the hockey mom's get excited about.

F #15 is a 2004. Omitted from writeup but probably worth mentioning. Makes you wonder how thorough the guy's analysis is.

You shouldn't wonder. It isn't thorough. It's all clickbait.

My prediction: Right now, he posts every verbal commitment kids make. When the rules are reformed - and they will be - he will come out against the verbal commitment process.

Re: Crimson Combine

Cox packs his nose firmly up the behind of every ex-NHL'er's or D-I's team and their kids. He will go out and watch three or four teams (a couple periods of two games basically) and profess to influence hockey East coaches. News flash 'scout,' those D-I programs already come calling for the names on the back of the sweaters and your reviews are never read, but take credit anyway.

He's played the same amount of competitive hockey games in his life that I have. ZERO.
