As it should be....Catholics recruit and publics just have who they have in town...there would be something wrong if a catholic didn't win...
It should be renamed the private school championship and the publics play for a championship in their division.
Is it me or am I seeing something of a change in the level of high school hockey in Mass? I watched the Hingham / Pope game and with the the pace of play seemingly slow, with many kids on the ice throughout the game, very few proper checks and basic position play especially on the penalty kill and breakouts missing. And watching (in my opinion) maybe just a few kids who should be looking at trying to play D-3 college hockey. I would think a Super 8 team from just a few years ago would run these teams right out of the building. Anyone else see this?
What time is the game on Sunday and where?
Is game Saturday at TD Garden? What time?
Me thinks Sunday
Pope Francis cheated. Plain and simple..cheated and got caught.
And best part is the Pope Francis team is all former Falcon players that you all roughed up from mites to bantams. Now who gets the last laugh? And you complained about having to drive to play them in lowly Enfield. Hmmmmm. Enjoy the game from the stands.
And BC High and all the other Catholics cheated (recruited) and didn't get caught.. so there.
It has nothing to do with "recruiting." It has to do with taking kids who were denied an MIAA waver and then still playing them after a court injunction, which is against MIAA rules.
Recruiting is against MIAA rules?
Everyone should cheat....great job MIAA!!
Your a joke
Recruiting isn't against the rules....If you have players that need waivers to play....you need to GET the waivers...not getting the waivers is against the rules...Team should have been barred from post season play....
Great lesson the coach is teaching the team...rules don't apply if you are good...
Why would the kids not have waivers? Did the schools not grant them? That's ridiculous if the case.
It was some story where a kid played goalie for his local school as a freshman, then he enrolled in P.F. and repeated his freshman year (oh it was for the academics, it was for the academics as we all know the catholic curriculum is soooo difficult) then he proceeded to play four more years making this his fifth year of high school hockey and the MIAA has rules against that.
BC High doesnt need to recruit. Everyone wants to go there and play if they can get in.
If they can get in? Yup, it’s hard. Irish, have a bad accent and don’t rat on the priests that are playing hide the pickle
"Get in"??? Please. They're hurting for suckers so badly they continuously talk about admitting girls. The better question is, will the good young players stay very long?
Watching the D-1A and D-1 finals it looks like a few kids could keep playing after high school. Not a deep year by any stretch but a few per team with some of the underclassmen looking talented by as usual undersized.
Hard for these kids to skate after a "feisty priest" day.
The fact that any parent would send their kid to a catholic school this day and age is beyond me. Watch the movie Spotlight and no parent would write a check to BC High.
hey stupid using your logic no kid should ever play hockey again either
because a bunch of coaches got caught too
