Looking at the USHL Combine rosters, there are 15 02’s and 7 03’s from New England, which is about 2 per team in 02, and 1 per team in 03. Very competitive and strong level of play. Selects Academy the most well represented at 02, a few 03 Eagles.
Well attended, well run event. Games were competitive, fast, and there was talent up and down the rosters. Lots of USHL scouts watching the games, and all teams coached by a USHL coach, who were also taking notes and very accessible to the players. NTDP also there scouting 03's for next year.
Same with the minuteman classic at NESC this weekend, but the scouts were NHL.
I heard the Springfield vs LI Gladiators or the Black Ice vs the Frozen Tide really packed them in! It was so bad that the parents didn't even watch. I assume you were making a funny.
Wow, there were USHL scouts and coaches at the USHL Combine? Whoda thunk it?
Youth hockey is over, fellas. The Combine is a positive experience for most kids that attend but not a difference-maker. The kids that will eventually play in the USHL don't need to go find exposure. Everyone knows which leagues and SS teams draw that level of talent.
