03 and 04 Draft this week. Any surprises?
The surprise is that you even know about it
OP must have forgotten only D1 dads on this board
Look at last years group of Draft picks, all top tier kids who will most likely NEVER end up in NCDC. Its more of a wish list for these teams knowing they might get 1 or 2 in years to come. By the way, they don't take kids who are currently in the USPHL..lol
Kind of like the 'Lil' Super Star' (LM) playing for BC?
Most all of these kids go NCDC to NAHL, BCHL or USHL, then to D1. It’s a great local Tier 3 Jr feeder league.
Good luck to all the 03's interested in NCDC tomorrow.
Did they move it? I thought it was in the spring?
Serious guys?
Hockey rink and org owners claiming the “ rights” to players. Grow up
After months and months of scouting with our first pick in the NCDC futures draft, we select some kid who will never play for us, but we own his rights!
The funny thing is, the kids of probably 95% of the parents making negative comments have no shot of ever playing NCDC, let along Tier I or II Juniors. A good chunk of the 95% probably have no clue about higher level Juniors and just wandered into the thread.
For the 5% with kids already playing Tier I or II Juniors, or that are close enough that they are legitimately targeting those levels, they should know the margins are absolutely razor thin, and that an additional opportunity to play tuition free hockey is in no way a bad thing. They're just negative by nature, I suppose. Otr are just arrogant pr!cks looking down on the unwashed.
The only people with any beef are the parents of the 95% playing youth, Midgets or Tier III in a program with an NCDC team, because they're paying the freight. If that's the issue, just come out and say it. Your kid's future after HS isn't bright, NCDC offers no benefit since he'll never be good enough to play there, and you don't like the hit to your wallet.
We're getting close, we'll see what happens this summer, and don't get me wrong - I absolutely would choose NAHL or Junior A over NCDC. But, I would choose NCDC over EHL, which I consider the best U.S. Tier III hockey (better than Premier).
Let's call it Tier II(A). Still really good hockey, and an achievement for the 95%.
still no call..that cant be good

So who is going where???
Nothing will be posted until tonight. Lots of 03 Prep players drafted
Nice....waiting for the call!
Wait. We were supposed to get a call? ****, looks like another year of tier 2 U16.
I count 11 teams....are they adding 2 more? And what is this, the free section of the USPHL?
Islanders Hockey Club
Jersey Hitmen
Junior Bruins
Connecticut Junior Rangers
Syracuse Stars
South Shore Kings
Northern Cyclones
Rochester Monarchs
New Jersey Rockets
P.A.L. Junior Islanders
Boston Bandits
NH Jr Monarchs joined this season and the Twin City Thunder will start play next season.
So it goes NCDC, USPHL Premier, USPHL Elite? And NCDC is the free league and the other two the players pay-to-play?
Looked at draft summary. These guys nailed it. No top 03’s missing from what I see
Public HS kids?
We have an 05 and are trying to understand what this draft means. So these teams now own the rights to these players?
Can these players continue playing in the organization they are in or do they need to leave next year? What about the kids at schools?
Do many of these kids have agents that reach out to these teams on their behalf or are these teams scouting?
Sorry for all the questions just trying to understand this particular process.
Correct, the team now owns your child. You must ask their permission for anything involving your son. Did you ask permission to write this question? I know, I know, it’s not all about the hockey 🤣😩👌🏿👌🏿
Congrats to all the players taken. Based off this thread, I guess I hope you never have to play in the NCDC :grimacing:
Serious question....how does the local NCDC league overall stack up to other jr leagues around the country?
I already answered that twice. Not as good as NAHL, better than EHL or any other Tier III league. Consider it Tier IIA.
And, it really isn't disputable. Anybody that says there is a Tier III Junior league that's better than NCDC is just making **** up.
Is it bad that my kid is in the USPHL and I didn't even know this was a thing or care that it is a thing? :joy:
Can you play in NCDC as a 15 year old?
How long do teams hold the rights of drafted players?
You can try..but will most likely be either too fast or too physical. Have to remember very few players are happy to be there so they compete hard constantly and will not let a 15 year old take there spot on a team or show them up in a game.
