Will the stars show up or are most over it now that they picked NTDP?

My son loved it last year, had a good time at the tryout, had a blast at the festival and didn’t get picked for the 40.
This year he will make it,

Word today was three of the boys, 1f, 2d out here today will be added to the big boy camp. Place was abuzz about the town kid who dazzled pretty much everyone there. Kid didnt play hs hockey, played low tier 2 and was top Fwd out there. Back to the drawing board for most.

Kid was lightning fast, a sure thing to advance to the next skate. Dad sat next to me, kid started playing 3 years ago and is just very athletic. Also, who was the new face in the net? Appeared to be very very strong. Never seen him and didnt recognize him. Was he the kid that plays in Quebec but parents live in MA?

My son skated in the second group.. he didn’t have it today. Grey had 4 strong forwards that should move on.

Putting good kids with bad kids really doesn't make anyone look very good. I would be shocked if anyone from that first group moved forward. Even the "big name" players looked pretty bad.

Wouldn’t they take the same kids from last year with a few new ones sprinkled in? Look at last years list, those kids didn’t just stop developing.
I have an 05 so next year is our first shot at this but just seems to make sense.

If the Terriers old coaches kid makes it again, I give up faith on all humanity! Just saying.

Stayed to watch second group-2-3 Kids from Dexter, Goalie from Selects, kid from Pics, 1 other should move on with no issue.

Saw lots of varsity prep skaters today at least 4-6 which should move forward.

Don’t they invite 60 kids or more to the festival?

Yes, the festival is usually 4 teams of 12 forwards 6/8 D and 2 Goalies. There is 1 more tryout this weekend, then emails will go out.

When do they release the players picked for the festival?

I think emails go out next week to those invited to the Festival and you have a week or so to accept.

It is sad for the other kids. Happened with the 04 group as well - A few coach’s kids on there that have no business being there. Too bad other kids get left out.

The coaches son in question is better than at least 10 other kids on that 03 list of 63 skaters. That stuff does happen but not in this case for the first list.

It’s all a joke. GFY MA Hockey. How can a kid have 3 USHL invites, 2 college offers and not make this festival? Spoke to the coaches last night and they just laughed about it.
1 coach offered to “make s call” but we declined, MA hockey is just a dishonest organization that will never improve Hockey for our kids.

Your kid had an off day, just like you will today at work because you are so twisted about this. That was a funny line about 3 Ushl and 2 college offers. You and I know that isnt the case.

Something seems more than a little off here.

More than half of the Rats and Whalers teams that just went to Nationals didn't crack the top 63 skaters.

Many other pretty good kids that played Prep and decent level HS not on the list. Others are complete no names.

A) They didn't tryout
B) Mass Hockey evaluators not watching and goofing off with buddies.
C) Mass Hockey evaluators/directors have, um, "a different criteria" of picking kids..
D) Nobody really cares, money grab

The same group as last year will be invited to the camp with one add to replace the one that is going to "the team". You've got the same family advisors and prep coaches pushing to keep their guys on the map.

Why do they need to drag this out to 3 separate showings? NE did it in one weekend and then everyone moves on.

30 New names from last year, is that common? So the 30 kids from last year just stopped developing in the eyes of MA Hockey? Wont make this mistake again.

And those 10 real good players are not much better than those that are interchangeable. Anyone there saw some of the " Household Names" struggling yet they still are on this list. Some of the " Names" are starting to get figured out but it's amazing though how long they have been able to carry the Label. Some of these kids were the big kids early and seemed to be way ahead, not the case anymore.

I understand the anger, my kid got cut from last year also. I told him to be better..plan and simple, be better to get what you want. Congrats to the boys who made it.
