Re: High school

If good then ISL only option

Re: High school

Not true. Have seen many good players go Catholic for a couple of years then transfer over to ISL. Have also seen good players prematurely go to prep, them leave. Like youth hockey, more than 1 path.

Re: High school

If we're talking hockey only, your kid should go where they will be actually playing a regular shift and touching the puck on a regular basis. Going to any school just because of their "reputation" as a power house and sitting on the bench is not going to help your kid one bit.

Re: High school

You spelled xaverian incorrectly

Re: High school

Slightly suspicious of this question. All schools within reasonable driving distance of Metrowest area with exception of SJP. Also huge difference between ISL and MIAA Catholic and not just talking hockey.

Re: High school

Huge difference is ISL PG 19 year olds and three or four lines that can play instead of two.

Comment is five years out of date. Number of schools don't rely on PGs any more, the repeat 9th/11th grader is the New Normal, and only top 2 lines/pair play meaningful minutes at top Prep.

Re: High school

There are no "PGs" in the ISL. They might enter as a repeat soph or junior but the ISL does not accept PGs.

No one is answering your question. St. Marks

I'm sorry, is there another ISL school listed other than St. Marks?

Re: High school

If the $ isn't an issue, and the academics are important, St. Mark's is a great option. Playing ISL as a freshman is difficult/rare, but it can be done. (St. Mark's had two freshman play regular minutes this year and had three the year before that.) Keep in mind, though, that your kid will need to play another sport in the fall and spring.
