Interesting mix of talent, prep vs non prep route.
Hard not to notice success of at least on the kids on BHC 2003 - going into junior year, still at public high school (which isn't that strong), yet made it through Mass Festival and was selected in the USHL draft. In other words, doing better that those doling out $10 thousands at prep.
In order words, Prep isn't necessary nor is skipping out on HS and playing full year juniors.
Family probably pays the same as whatever the prep kids pay for hockey specific except for the school season itself. In other words, beyond paying the big prep tuition, prep school parents still have to pay for private lessons, deluxe camps, half season (Fall) hockey, spring/summer teams, & related travel, strength training coaches, etc. I agree, everyone is in for $10K minimum, prep or not, and the parents of prep are also paying school tuition and boarding on top of that.
