Re: Rodman arena rules

Why would you think a stupid question Won’t draw stupid comments?

The state rule is one. Some rinks are zero. That’s it. Nowhere is it two or more.

Re: Rodman arena rules

Thanks Richard!

There is no such state rule about 1 spectator. Every rink is following the local board of health guidelines. Some go by occupancy limit, some made their lives easy and said no entry, others are going with the short answer of 1 per player. There is no blanket state guideline.

Wrong. Go back and look at Baker’s order from this summer.

Sorry that you think it is still July. You must have nodded off and missed the part where indoor occupancy is now at 50% or under the guidance of the local board of health. Each facility has a plan, approved by the BOH, and may utilize that. Most rinks are sticking with the 1 spectator to limit occupancy. Other facilities are tracking occupancy and allowing spectators based on facility size.

Information does move fast so ask your kid to help you out with the big words.

Same rules are still in effect. Still in Phase III Step 1. Latest bump forward was October 4th. Still one spectator per player, as long as that doesn't exceed 50% of available spectator capacity.

"If an indoor facility has a chaperone or spectator viewing area which allows for at least six
feet social distancing between spectators and the presence of spectators plus players,
coaches, referees, and facility/activity workers does not cause the facility to exceed more
than 50% of the maximum occupancy for the indoor facility, then 1 spectator per player
under 21 years old is allowed to attend."

Is Rodman being very strict with entry? Wondering if it's just capacity and 2 parents in the same family can go in? No need for stupid comments please!
Just go in at separate times, no one will notice... it’s like speeding - does anyone actually follow the speed limits these days.

Re: Rodman arena rules

That’s great. You’re a jackass. Mass hockey will be shutdown because of morons like you. Thank you from the rest of that follow the rules and take this seriously.

Re: Rodman arena rules

Haha - so you always follow the speed limit? How does 10 more people wearing mask in a large rink spread the cold I mean covid? Stupid rules are meant to be broken...

The difference is, if you speed they don't shut the roads down.

Try to pretend - just pretend - you care about someone other than yourself, you and your kid aren't 'special,' and follow the rules.

They don't shut down the roads because they (government) and we (the people) accept the risk that speeding increases the likelihood of a bad outcome (injury/death). Just like the seasonal flu (that kills between 15k to 60k every year). AND at some point we will have the same acceptance with Covid/Corona (just like Swine, Bird, Ebola).

Wait until your kid has it and has to miss games for three weeks. Unfortunately even though every study done has been found to be wildly inaccurate, there is at least some level of risk of heart involvement, so athletes need to get an EKG at a minimum before returning to play.

He won't be contagious after ten days, according to the CDC, but he also won't be allowed into a health care facility until at least two weeks after symptoms.

Then try to explain to your kid's pediatrician that you need one right away because your kid plays hockey. The indifference on the other end of the phone is palpable. You can hear the scheduler rolling their eyes.

Suddenly you won't be so indifferent.

Oh, and please stop calling it Corona. That's a beer. It causes you to look uneducated.

If your kid is asymptomatic or experienced mild symptoms there is no need for an EKG to return to youth sports. It is only recommended in cases where cardiac issues became apparent during infection. Keep spreading the fear mommy.

Sorry, but that's not the way it works. A single flawed study about cardiac involvement shut down college football in the PAC-12 and other power conferences. Area colleges are requiring an EKG of kids that test positive, asymptomatic or not.

My kid's pediatrician has also said an EKG is necessary.

See, the thing is, you're probably right. But, what if you're not?

Yup, for college aged athletes, to cover all the liability issues. This is the HS board, is your 15yo in college? The CDC and your pediatrician also recommend that children under HS age not participate in full contact sports. Did you hold your kid out of Bantam Minor and Bantam Major? Didn't think so. Your husband needs to keep you off the internet.

Son had a game at Rodman early season, they were VERY strict at that time. Player & Parent had to fill the contact form out online. Kid checked in than matched the parent to the player when parents checked in. Only 1 spectator per player, extra's were turned away. Certainly could have lightened up since then.
