I literally give up on all of this. Keep your kids minds safe, hockey will not be a part of their futures as those hopes and dreams have been crushed for the 00,01,02,03 group. Its to bad, tons of really talented and dedicated kids will lose out.
Kick the Canadians out and let the Americans play, WTF is wrong with these people.
60? Rosters should be 25 max and even then 5 players are in a suit watching the game.
Mid season is not a time for tryouts. Sure 1 or 2 studs become available you grab them, but 35 extra? F'n ridiculous.
Teams over offered during the summer thinking COVID would be an issue and they would have problems finding players as parents had their kids hunkered down during the pandemic. Truly underestimated hockey people. Our kids didn't put 14-15 years into a sport just to give up because of a little virus that doesn't affect kids anyways. The contracts came pouring in and many of these programs had more players than they knew what to do with.
There are entire teams of just practice players that aren't even seeing game action at some organizations. Most I've heard we're carrying 30-35 players easily. The players should just leave and find somewhere else to play, right? Where should they go? It's like this everywhere. Then Canada keeps delaying and delaying. American & Canadian players seeing there isn't going to be a season up there start signing in the USHL, NAHL, and on down the line, and the shuffling begins. A ripple effect of players like an avalanche coming down the system and players just looking for a place to latch on to so they can get some ice.
F'ed up season. COVID can't go away fast enough.
Exactly! It’s all about making it look like they helped that kid get a commit when in truth all these kids came in with commits in hand. So next season when parents are looking for an organization to send their kids they think their son will get lots of exposure to D1 schools. What they’ll get is sent to the lower teams to pay - if they are lucky. Covid screwed everything up and coaches screwed kids over. Reality.
Me and my 18 year old son had a conversation this morning with an Advisor that wanted us to sign up with him. We brought this up and his answer was "Yeah, we can get on a good USPHL Premier team as the NCDC teams are pretty well set for next year" Needless to say we are not signing up with him or paying to play Premier. Time for college, maybe play club if the schools even offer it next year.
Advisor is actually right. There are some teams out there that are already developing their u16 kids for playing on their junior teams next year.
