Hoping I can get some, clarity on this one. I just left the Warren Tavern in Charlestown. Sitting adjacent to me was some guy who kept bragging to his friends about how he was a star player at some school named Don Bosco. He was claiming he was a Catholic Conference All Star and that he was a Division 1 prospect. Anyways, I looked up Don Bosco on the web and the closest I could come was some school maybe in New Jersey. Was this guy just blowing smoke to his friends or what?
yes it was a catholic school in Boston. It closed in the 90s
True. Don Bosco was a catholic hs geared towards trades located near where tufts medical is today. Had some excellent teams and players through 70s and some of 80s. Mark Rousseau from Medford who went on to capation BC was one.
They were legit. Won a state title in the late 80s I think. Right there with BC High and CM some years.
Other notable alumni were Billy O’Dwyer who played there in late 70’s, before playing at Boston College and then the LA Kings and Boston Bruins. Ed Rauseo was another alumni who had a really good four years playing for Boston College starting with the 1980-81 season.
