Keep your ear to the grindstone on this one. Belmont Hill hockey alumni are carrying a lot of weight, and there is no doubt that their pick will be selected. The issue is their pick has very limited prior experience.
When, if ever, was Belmont Hill relevant ?
1980’s early 90’s were the glory days.
Clearly you are very uninformed. Do some research on Belmont Hill of the late 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s before you post such an ignorant statement. The pipeline of BH to Harvard and others is pretty impressive. I write this as an alum of a rival ISL day school.
Some pretty good players have left there the past. 5 years. Something is not right. What happened to the guy that was out recruiting every 14 year old on the east coast the past few years? Landed very few
Same thing is probably going to happen that has happened at other past powerhouses. New parents come in don't like the way the program is being run (Code for their kid was cut, or was yelled at) and complain to a new head of school. The new head caves because he is new and thinks his job is to please the parents. Meanwhile you are usually left with a new coach who will last 5 years...Rinse and repeat with new batch of parents and new coach.
Haven’t been a powerhouse for 25-30 years.
Hockey team has been extremely political for years with pay-for-play in place prior to the current coach. Most of the talented kids leave early or opt of other preps altogether . Not an environment that develops college hockey players.
Young guy is nice, D3 college coaching background. Not cut out to survive BH. Coaching carrousel will soon match BBN down the street.
Disagree completely. Team will be very deep the next two years. Pretty obvious to anyone that has watched the team the past 2 years.
i just think its interesting that they still have the old coach posted on website and nothing about the new coach. does that mean its still to be decided? as a parent, i certainly would want to know who the coach is ahead of 4/10.
Been watching them for the past 5+ years. Talent level has dropped every season. Too many friends and family. High end local kids refuse BH and their “recruiter.”
HHA is their recruiter.
future of bel hill is based on middle school and freshman goalie talent.....sorta proves the point we’ve been making don’t it?
They are stacked with young goalie talent and do have some high end talent in the middle school. If they stick around for the education and don't jump around for "hockey reasons" the way some do for EHF teams they will be good.
LOL. "Young goalie talent"..Rolleags!
LOL no goalies from wizards or patriots there. get your facts straight
Goalie dad is talking about the rags goalie. Rolleags!!
From what I've heard they have a The eagles 05 the Islanders 06 and Eagles 07 goalies.
And wiz 04/u18. Doesn’t really matter without the horses in front of them.
He’s graduating, rest would be on jv if not for connections.
Lol, you clearly have not been to games the past 2 years. D remains their strength
Thanks for the chuckle dman dad.
Sorry to say, beyond the princeton bound defender nothing there. Who knows maybe some middle schoolers will come in next season and solidify the d-corps LOL
Way to have your facts straight. The other graduating D is going to Babson to play hockey. The five returners are all upper classmen, are on top select teams around here and have been on the Belmont Hill team since their freshmen or sophomore year. Some of those five returners will play college hockey. They don't need the middle schoolers to solidify their D but go on and spout your nonsense. The D and goalies have been known as the strength of the team for the past five years. Sounds like someone got a rejection letter...
Agree, strong players on D that will continue to be solid and one or two likely will play college hockey at a decent level
Belmont Hill is a great education. the hockey is ass. this is not debatable.
the Wiz!!! what a joke.
they have the 07 islanders goalie and the two 07 eagles goalies too.
as long as the rest of the ISL learns to shoot high, they will be all set.
im the OP and was inquiring about the coach. not the goalies. not the dmen. def not the middle schoolers
not interested in others criticizing the kids or program, just facts on the coach, if anyone has them
You’re not asking the right question.
At bel hill any coach, current or otherwise, has minimal pull compared to the AD and trustees.
IM or Murph for coach? 4 stars across the board on NZ and cookies for parents
