Was at a get together today with a few relatives from w mass. Everyone talking about the top team in Mass Prep +HS hockey. Good to see w mass leading the talent pool in mass hockey again. Good work boys. The talk around the fire pi is that the squad may be even deeper this next year. Pretty impressive.
Hopefully they’re deeper next year but I don’t think They’ll have a number of this years JV players on the Varsity team.
Dude...you need to let it go.
Just because you put the word prep in the teams name doesn't make them a prep school.
NEPSAC is prep school hockey.
MIAA is public/catholic school hockey.
We are all so happy your little buddy had a great year and won HS nationals but your insistance that they are a prep school is foolish.
Winning the USA High School Championships is like being the tallest midget in the room
Will be very different next year. Horses all leaving. With the seniors leaving, RL to USNTDP, and at least 4 other to real prep schools. Foley may retire!
About 10 years ago my son was looking at Choate Rosemary Hall, and an assistant hockey coach made a memorable comment to us. He said that Choate's JV hockey team could beat the Connecticut state champions from the public school division (Varsity).
A splash of cold water in the face!
I am aware of this circumstance. Seems pretty clear that Prep coaches do not recruit to fill their JV or thirds teams. There was no such implication in my post or the words of the assistant coach from Choate.
The sad part is that even given the fact that all parties to the conversation that day on the Choate campus were aware of what the JV and thirds teams consist of, that such a thought could enter the assistant coach's mind, and the sentence would pass his lips.
At the time the comment was made, I genuinely believed that the coach meant the words he said!
Why are so many players leaving PF if it’s a powerhouse? Why leave to play hockey for other teams?
Pretty simple. They are looking for challenges. Been there, done that mentality. Kinda like Brady heading to Tampa Bay. Time to see if they can earn another ring. Yes, a step down in the level of play but nonetheless ,a good challenge.
PF = National prep Champs , you need to accept it. Top prep / HS team, period.
How can you be the top prep team nationally yet lose three times to the same team from your own state ?
Jerez this is a foolish discussion.
PF is not a prep school. like Austin prep or St. John’s prep are not prep schools even though the word “prep” is actually in their names. They are not in the ISL, holt, lakes, etc.and are not an independent like the actual prep school that beat them 3x this year. They do not compete in the Nepsac playoffs in any of the three divisions instead the play in the miaa playoffs with public schools and other catholic schools. That is all.
