You can show up at a 5 or 6 "Main Camps" at $400 bucks a whack or pay 3k for an advisor to to all the leg work, evaluation, and use their connections to place you on either a NCDC team or tier 3 team. You decide what way is best knuckle nuts.

You can go off to college and pay upwards of 60k/year at 18 years old not knowing a dam thing about life, what you want to do or what you should study. Or you can pay 10k-14k/year to have as much fun as you can and enjoy playing a game for something more than a cold beer for a couple years.

Remember the part about the advisor? That way you won't end up on a crap stick tier 3 team with kids that were not good enough to play HS hockey. At the least, if you have a good advisor they will level with you and tell you this is just a two year extension of hockey and then it's done or they will tell you the kid has a shot to play D3 and where within D3.

But you do you meat stick. Sorry you can't afford the jr hockey experience for your bender. There is a shortage of officials. Maybe you can pick up some extra cash to help.

Or your kid can be good enough so you don't have to pay for an advisor.

And. Using your flawed logic. You should pay and advisor to tell you what camps to “show up” at and still pay ?

And then. You want to pay a “good advisor” to tell you that it’s all over in two years because your kid isn’t very good.

Buddy. Buy me a beer and I’ll watch your kid at a practice for fifteen minutes and tell you whether they will be playing or not.

And if I prided myself in being able to afford T3 junior hockey I would cry myself to sleep at night. What an accomplishment.

My kid was invited to a main camp at 16. Worked out well.

Going through the same thing right now with my son. I'm not about to pay an advisor but not afraid of paying one year of tier 3 because that's what my kid wants to do and I'm lucky enough to be able to afford it. He's been approached by several EHL teams so I'm confident he'll be fine and if he gets looks in D3 great. If not he moves on. I'm curious why the person that is lucky enough to have a 16 year old that did well at a main camp would be on here ripping people. What an insecure a-hole.

If your player is a late birth year, repeat year or pg and has no interest directly from d3 or T2 coaches now, expect to enter the T3 pay to play model for 2 years. If your player is graduating on time, minimum 3 years pay to play. Times have drastically changed even from 2-3 years ago and while you might see kids going from EHL to a d3 roster check out their play time and games pla*** moving forward from this year's freshman class. Most don't dress and it's only going to get worse. Player pool is flooded with talent. A year or two of T3 juniors doesn't even guarantee your kid play time on a good club team.

I strongly suggest that at least 80% of 02's and 03's parents sit their kids down, explain how unfair life is due to covid and let them know that hockey is not an option going forward. Most hockey kids are good athletes, maybe try to go to college for another sport, track and field, golf, something other than hockey, its over. High school coaches should be doing the same for their players, explain to them that its time to move on with their lives. Seems easier to let them know now so they can finish their hockey careers strong.

Not ripping anyone. Just trying to provide an alternative account to the guy who is suggesting people hiring an advisor to play T3 so that they are playing for "more than a cold beer".

And I didnt say how my kid did at the main camp, well or poorly. I said that it worked out well. Maybe that means it opened his eyes and he realized he wasn't going to play at that level and decided to finish up high school. Maybe he or, maybe he realized that T# was really bad and that he could go from prep to a low level D3 team and get some time as a true freshman.

I didnt say because it is irrelevant and each kid needs to figure out their own path. I am not saying that paying an advisor for T3 may not be a fit for a particular kid or family, but throwing it out there that it isnt needed.

And.. I see more kids signing with a local advisor company that is putting in garbage T3 teams whose really interest is molesting your kid and not his hockey ***ure.

You do realize that 98% or more of the kids trying to play at the next level do not fit into your nice little bubble of being head and shoulders above everyone else? The vast majority are all trying to keep their head above water and separate from the pack.
Are you too dumb to realize that there are way more kids trying to play jr hockey and college hockey than spots available? Are you too obtuse to realize how many parents have no idea what to do to help their kids?

Read this slowly so maybe you can comprehend it.

My kid is not and was not head and shoulders above everyone else or a small minority. He worked his way up and is pretty much equal to most of the kids he plays with. Most of those kids will go prep-jr-d3.

What your describing is exactly my point. Out of your estimate 98 % of kids trying to play at the next level. 80 percent don’t need a paid advisor. They need someone, maybe a parent, to tell them it’s all over and they are not good enough.

They are selling you a false dream. Newsflash buddy. All the other coaches and advisors also know within 15 minutes if your kid can play or not. They just don’t tell you that because they need more and more pay to play players to fund top teams.

There is a reason there are 40 kids on a T3 roster in a single season. Kids that don’t see time leave. Opening the door for another kid who won’t see time who a paid advisor got on the team. The paid advisor keeps telling you to keep working hard and maybe get you on another team or get you more time.

In any event. That’s why there are so many more kids than spots available.

Because there are hundreds of kids who have no business playing. But paid advisors and coaches keep them hopeful to pay for someone else.

They prey on parents who don’t know what to do. I am trying to tell you that.
