Re: Massachusetts High School D1 & D2 pre-season rankings
Silver Lake was ranked 9th last season graduating a couple of good seniors still have their best player though & Plymouth North was ranked 15th, I think they’re just outside top 10 because of their schedule this year playing better competition mostly teams on the south shore.
Just outside of top 10 Newton South, Plymouth North, Silver Lake, Westwood
Plymouth North and Silver Lake just outside the top 10? You are way way off. They'll probably be just outside the playoffs!!!
How are you coming to these conclusions or are you throwing it against the wall based on last years final standings? Some of these teams lost 8-15 seniors…
Re: Massachusetts High School D1 & D2 pre-season rankings
Couldn’t agree more Caden Connors was top 5 player in state last year. Tewksbury sophomore class last year racked up some points and Ben O’keefe in net was unbelievable. I didn’t put them as #1 because of the graduating class but I think they’ll still be top 5. Duxbury could be 1,2 or 3 they did beat D3 champs Hanover & had close games w Hingham losing 1-0 and taking Marshfield and Xaverian who were both top 10 in D1 last year to OT but losing. Duxbury only graduated 5 kids last year and I think they will play in the state Championship
Re: Massachusetts High School D1 & D2 pre-season rankings
St. John’s will be 1 or 2. They lost some of there top end kids to graduation. CM will be 5 or 8 They struggled last year to put the puck in the net and the same will happen this year . Xaverian also losing 2 kids from top line and a good piece of their core kids . St Mary’s is young and will have a problem with the goaltending as I believe both were graduating seniors .Belmont could possibly be the sneaky team to squeeze into the top 5 with the pick ups they got. As for the rest it will depend on how there underclassman step up their game filling spots. But this all to be seen in the next weeks coming up as teams begin scrimmages and tryouts. The NZ boys will have it pegged soon. Good luck to all teams !!!

Publics should learn from the other sports like soccer. All of a sudden these leafy suburban towns have these kids do an exchange student year or two from countries with strong soccer histories.
Imagine if the local public h.s. athletic director could develop an exchange program with Quebec. . . . ?
