This kid is from IL, and Iowa State is a Big Deal in the Midwest. Maybe he'd rather play really high level Club than NCAA so he can focus on the rest of his college experience. Maybe he was going there anyway. Maybe his time in the USPHL opened the door. Who knows?

But the drum beat that USPHL is somehow a vastly inferior Midget / Junior Hockey product isn't borne out by the facts. It provides players with opportunities. That's all anyone wants.

The league is basically a players last shot at playing 1 more year after high school, period, but at the same time it does give that player 1 more year of hockey, so it does fill a need in the area.

Anyone that thinks they know what everyone else wants is an arrogant fool. And lots - LOTS - of kids go from this league to college hockey - whether D-I,II, or III - or Club, if that's what they want, for reasons that are entirely their own.

He leads the league $hithead. My issue is that its not Tier 2 hockey. He tried. USA hockey laughed and he thought he could do it his way by buying people. My son never, ever wore an Islanders jersey not would he have to. We made the drive to a true EHF elite team back in the day. In fact the Islanders weren't even in Elite at that time. Shows how muvh you know about New England hockey. Why are you always making homophobic references? Seems you are a bit insecure.

I don't know how old his kid is, but for him to claim MXI weren't an Elite program, his kid would have aged out of Juniors. Maybe NCDC Sux is one of those parents that has lied about his kid's age from Mites on? Or maybe he aged out this year, reaching the "pinnacle" of his hockey career at 21 with the Generals?

The Middlesex Islanders were a founding member of the EHF in 2004 and were in the MBHL before that. So, while I don't recall their being as strong as they are today - things change, Top Gun and Assabet were among the stronger programs in the MBHL - I sincerely doubt his claim that they weren't in the Elite division.

RG bought the Islanders in 2010. That I do remember. Kids that were in U14 and below back then would be what, 1996 birth year and younger? IMO and in my experience IHC been a model franchise ever since he had the practice rink built at Merrimack and got them out of that toilet in Saugus. It's only been the best, cleanest, most comfortable hockey facility in youth hockey since it was built.

I personally can't stand Skate 3. But, it's better since RG put $$$ into it to house his Juniors a program. It used to be a "2." Now it's probably a "5."

Hey, I get it, lots of people don't like wealthy, successful, powerful businessmen. It makes them feel inadequate that others accomplish things they can't.

USA Hockey didn't like his business model because it is a pyramid scheme, simple as that. They are interested in growing the game, not hindering it. Same reason every college coach runs from the NCDC. They want USHL and NAHL players not "Tier 3 bums". The only players with minimal talent had their shot in the U of NA, got cut, and are home licking their wounds. My son is a 98. When he played in the EHF, Islanders were AAA program, not Elite. Our teams scrimmaged them once and my son said "I don't wanna play them anymore, they can barely skate".

RG bought the Islanders in 2010. That I do remember. Kids that were in U14 and below back then would be what, 1996 birth year and younger? IMO and in my experience IHC been a model franchise ever since he had the practice rink built at Merrimack and got them out of that toilet in Saugus. USA Hockey didn't like his business model because it is a pyramid scheme, simple as that. They are interested in growing the game, not hindering it. Same reason every college coach runs from the NCDC. They want USHL and NAHL players not "Tier 3 bums". The only players with minimal talent had their shot in the U of NA, got cut, and are home licking their wounds. My son is a 98. When he played in the EHF, Islanders were AAA program, not Elite. Our teams scrimmaged them once and my son said "I don't wanna play them anymore, they can barely skate".
Sounds like your son played for a tier 2 youth program and played their 2nd team. They certainly have had an elite team during that period of time.

Pyramid scheme? How is that? Break it down for me. All of these leagues(outside of ushl) are using different tactics. My son has been invited to 15 NAHL camps. Half of them said in the invite that it was due to his play at the combine. The combine he had to back out of. If NCDC pulled that and you caught wind of that you would scream holy murder.

Its a pyramid scheme because they tax 8 year old mite players $200-$300 additional to pay for Tier 3 bums bus rides. USA Hockey agreed.

It isn't unusual to invite anyone to a prospect camp at any level. I am darn sure your son didn't get invited to the Main Camp.

Nothing wrong with NAHL players going to D3. I haven't seen the NA bragging about a club hockey commitment.

They dont tax kids, they tax parents. $200 -$300 ha ha. Puhlease!! Who cares. It is a free market chief! Nothing wrong with the invite but the manner in which it is done in some instances: "we enjoyed your play" "you really stood out" when in fact he was not there. Weak! But no worries. We will go next year and my son is right whete he should be. I don't sweat what other people are doing. I am rooting for every kid. Even yours!

D3 college hockey is excellent . Ncdc is not placing many in club. Perhaps the lower leagues.

My suggestion is you just focus on your kid and enjoy the ride. As a 98 its almost over and the we will see....

USA Hockey didn\\\\\\\'t like his business model because it is a pyramid scheme, simple as that. They are interested in growing the game, not hindering it. Same reason every college coach runs from the NCDC. They want USHL and NAHL players not \\\\\\\"Tier 3 bums\\\\\\\". The only players with minimal talent had their shot in the U of NA, got cut, and are home licking their wounds. My son is a 98. When he played in the EHF, Islanders were AAA program, not Elite. Our teams scrimmaged them once and my son said \\\\\\\"I don\\\\\\\'t wanna play them anymore, they can barely skate\\\\\\\".
Sounds like your son played for a tier 2 youth program and played their 2nd team. They certainly have had an elite team during that period of time.

Pyramid scheme? How is that? Break it down for me. All of these leagues(outside of ushl) are using different tactics. My son has been invited to 15 NAHL camps. Half of them said in the invite that it was due to his play at the combine. The combine he had to back out of. If NCDC pulled that and you caught wind of that you would scream holy murder.

Also, many of those aging out of the NAHL this year are going d3 so you better be careful. Karma is gonna get you!!!
The Islanders did not have an elite team in EHF Elite in 2008. Fact.

Its a pyramid scheme because they tax 8 year old mite players \$200-\$300 additional to pay for Tier 3 bums bus rides. USA Hockey agreed.

It isn\'t unusual to invite anyone to a prospect camp at any level. I am darn sure your son didn\'t get invited to the Main Camp.

Nothing wrong with NAHL players going to D3. I haven\'t seen the NA bragging about a club hockey commitment.

I don\'t think you can argue any of these points.
They dont tax kids, they tax parents. $200 -$300 ha ha. Puhlease!! Who cares. It is a free market chief! Nothing wrong with the invite but the manner in which it is done in some instances: "we enjoyed your play" "you really stood out" when in fact he was not there. Weak! But no worries. We will go next year and my son is right whete he should be. I don't sweat what other people are doing. I am rooting for every kid. Even yours!

D3 college hockey is excellent . Ncdc is not placing many in club. Perhaps the lower leagues.

My suggestion is you just focus on your kid and enjoy the ride. As a 98 its almost over and the we will see....
You can come see my 98 play D1. He already has 4 offers and not one is AIC. I also didn't need to buy his commitment to Colgate.
I feel good that people that want to see him/them play pay for their tuition. Its not rammed down the throats of an 8 or 9 year olds parents as a $300 addition to
the kids tuition. Its a horrible model and horrible hockey. If they had stayed as a Tier 3 pay to play they probably would have had more college attention. I have no idea why
the Junior Bs dont make the jump to NAHL.

NCDC tuition is free. We just charge for everything else including pucks, bus rides, meals, equipment, ice time, tournaments, air in the arena, zamboni fee, coach fee, tape fee, skate sharpener fee, other fees as RG deems appropriate such as his boat fee.

The Middlesex Islanders were a founding member of the EHF in 2004 and were in the MBHL before that. So, while I don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t recall their being as strong as they are today - things change, Top Gun and Assabet were among the stronger programs in the MBHL - I sincerely doubt his claim that they weren\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t in the Elite division.

RG bought the Islanders in 2010. That I do remember. Kids that were in U14 and below back then would be what, 1996 birth year and younger? IMO and in my experience IHC been a model franchise ever since he had the practice rink built at Merrimack and got them out of that toilet in Saugus. It\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s only been the best, cleanest, most comfortable hockey facility in youth hockey since it was built.

I believe USPHL starts at u14. If those parents choose to pay $3,300 as opposed to $3,000 who cares. They are not held hostage. You can play anywhere you want until drafted, tendered, offered a spot. You arguement is so flawed. Jr B's could not generate any kind of revenue from NAHL besides lower leagues in the usphl are way better then Na3hl or whatever.

NCDC tuition is free. We just charge for everything else including pucks, bus rides, meals, equipment, ice time, tournaments, air in the arena, zamboni fee, coach fee, tape fee, skate sharpener fee, other fees as RG deems appropriate such as his boat fee.

Who cares what Tier they call themselves! Why do you care? USA hockey did not like their business model and in their own interest decided to deny then Tier 2 status. Was it the right call ? Maybe, maybe not. Lets not kid ourselves that they are all about altruism. They are a powerful organization that does not like loose cannons. The Middlesex Islanders were a founding member of the EHF in 2004 and were in the MBHL before that. So, while I don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t recall their being as strong as they are today - things change, Top Gun and Assabet were among the stronger programs in the MBHL - I sincerely doubt his claim that they weren\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t in the Elite division.

RG bought the Islanders in 2010. That I do remember. Kids that were in U14 and below back then would be what, 1996 birth year and younger? IMO and in my experience IHC been a model franchise ever since he had the practice rink built at Merrimack and got them out of that toilet in Saugus. It\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s only been the best, cleanest, most comfortable hockey facility in youth hockey since it was built.

I personally can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t stand Skate 3. Hey, I get it, lots of people don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t like wealthy, successful, powerful businessmen. It makes them feel inadequate that others accomplish things they can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t.
USA Hockey didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t like his business model because it is a pyramid scheme, simple as that. They are interested in growing the game, not hindering it. Same reason every college coach runs from the NCDC. They want USHL and NAHL players not \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Tier 3 bums\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\". The only players with minimal talent had their shot in the U of NA, got cut, and are home licking their wounds. My son is a 98. When he played in the EHF, Islanders were AAA program, not Elite. Our teams scrimmaged them once and my son said \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"I don\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t wanna play them anymore, they can barely skate\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\".
Sounds like your son played for a tier 2 youth program and played their 2nd team. They certainly have had an elite team during that period of time.

Pyramid scheme? How is that? Break it down for me. All of these leagues(outside of ushl) are using different tactics. My son has been invited to 15 NAHL camps. Half of them said in the invite that it was due to his play at the combine. The combine he had to back out of. If NCDC pulled that and you caught wind of that you would scream holy murder.

Also, many of those aging out of the NAHL this year are going d3 so you better be careful. Karma is gonna get you!!!
The Islanders did not have an elite team in EHF Elite in 2008. Fact.

Its a pyramid scheme because they tax 8 year old mite players \\\\\\\$200-\\\\\\\$300 additional to pay for Tier 3 bums bus rides. USA Hockey agreed.

It isn\\\\\\\'t unusual to invite anyone to a prospect camp at any level. I am darn sure your son didn\\\\\\\'t get invited to the Main Camp.

Nothing wrong with NAHL players going to D3. I haven\\\\\\\'t seen the NA bragging about a club hockey commitment.

I don\\\\\\\'t think you can argue any of these points.
They dont tax kids, they tax parents. \\\$200 -\\\$300 ha ha. Puhlease!! Who cares. It is a free market chief! Nothing wrong with the invite but the manner in which it is done in some instances: \\\"we enjoyed your play\\\" \\\"you really stood out\\\" when in fact he was not there. Weak! But no worries. We will go next year and my son is right whete he should be. I don\\\'t sweat what other people are doing. I am rooting for every kid. Even yours!

D3 college hockey is excellent . Ncdc is not placing many in club. Perhaps the lower leagues.

My suggestion is you just focus on your kid and enjoy the ride. As a 98 its almost over and the we will see....
You can come see my 98 play D1. He already has 4 offers and not one is AIC. I also didn\'t need to buy his commitment to Colgate.
I feel good that people that want to see him/them play pay for their tuition. Its not rammed down the throats of an 8 or 9 year olds parents as a \$300 addition to
the kids tuition. Its a horrible model and horrible hockey. If they had stayed as a Tier 3 pay to play they probably would have had more college attention. I have no idea why
the Junior Bs dont make the jump to NAHL.
I believe USPHL starts at u14. If those parents choose to pay $3,300 as opposed to $3,000 who cares. They are not held hostage. You can play anywhere you want until drafted, tendered, offered a spot. You arguement is so flawed. Jr B's could not generate any kind of revenue from NAHL besides lower leagues in the usphl are way better then Na3hl or whatever.
