Re: NCDC expanding?

Seriously? Creating more slots for lesser players is in fact a bad thing. Bad for the good players. Bad for the lesser players. Thats why there are hierarchies in leagues/tiers. No one benefits from watering things down. They should be contracting the league. Make the competition level higher and make it more meaningful and accomplishemen to make a team. Then someone might actually go watch and/or scout.

And yes, by adding Arizona State is a bad thing if your don\'t correspondingly cut an Alabama Huntsville or Anchorage. Those teams get worse but somoene has to play them. They are so bad that those games are excluded from the pairwise rankings because beating them actually hurts your ranking. Not good for college hockey

There is always an implication beyond the obvious. Adding teams is fine as long as the total stays at around 60. If the number of teams grows where there arent enough talent to field them, you\'ll have a football situation growing where you will have power conferences and the others and the two will play each other less and less. A two tiered D1 college system.
So, by your reasoning, adding the VGK is a bad thing. Having another 50 or so young men able to make a living playing hockey from the Seattle expansion is a bad thing. Hell, the extra 26 teams since the Original Six are a bad thing.

Someone lives under a rock.
Pretty stupid counter. NHL has controlled expansion based upon demand for the product and supply of talented players. And given that it has not always worked. Expansion from original six did go too fast at certain points and NHL had limited growth in it's following. Entry of Russia/Europe players and USA's developemnt of players changed everything.

Junior hockey has already had uncotrolled expansion to the point where it's a joke below the USHL/NAHL level. You can argue the NAHL is over saturated with teams but at least they do so with USAH blessing and some subsidies.

Re: NCDC expanding?

I bet the guy living under the rock thinks it's a great idea to spend billions of dollars on a wall the middle of no where that even the people living in those states realize it's the stupidest thing going. Make America Back-ass-wards again.

Re: NCDC expanding?

NAHL has announced that a new team is going into Lewiston, Maine. Between the Generals and the new Maine team, the geographic squeeze begins on the NCDC.

Could hurt the new Maine NCDC team, for sure. But, I don't think the Generals are really bothering the MA NCDC teams.

Most NAHL teams aren't drawing players within commuting ditance.

Your right, lower talent level at NCDC

Re: NCDC expanding?

NCDC equivalent to a low end u18 team from the T1EHL

Slow, bad bad passing, limited systematic play. A few good players in league, lots of bad ones.
