I doubt those leagues even start on time since the Canadian government has provided ZERO plans for returning to play. Which begs the question, should U.S. based teams reciprocate and restrict Canadian players? We don't need them coming down here and flooding our Junior leagues again this year because their government can't get their crap together.
As for US players going to Canada I wouldn't recommend that be your plan. I wouldn't trust the Canadian government to open things up for at least another year or more. When those Canadian bound players figure that out they'll be looking for spots on NAHL and NCDC rosters, welcomed with open arms, and then the trickle down reshuffling begins. Should be another fun year, though not as bad as last year, hopefully.
After speaking to 2 coaches in BCHL, that is the general consensus at this time. I hope they are wrong as my son is set to go in late August. They are not optimistic due to the current number of vaccinated in their country and the fact that they have moved it multiple times by 30 days they feel this time will be a hard 6 month move in order to get Covid under control. Again, I hope they are wrong or my son along with others are screwed!
They are only at 50% vaccination, Prime Minister wants them at 75% before reopening. He has a track record of being overly cautious. We will see what happens on the 23rd. Fingers crossed!
