NESCAC on its way out...again

In light of the rapid onset of the highly transmissible Omicron variant, NESCAC institutions will temporarily require that spectators at indoor NESCAC athletic events be restricted to individuals who are part of the host institution's testing protocol. This policy is in effect until the end of January. We hope that the testing, vaccination, and other mitigation measures in use on all our campuses will allow us to keep case numbers low. The Conference will review this policy on a regular basis in the hope that conditions will allow us to return to our usual policies on spectators. Updates will be provided as soon as information is available.

All NESCAC institutions also strongly encourage athletes to get a booster before returning to campus.

Re: NESCAC on its way out...again

Son pla*** today with several USHL, NAHL, NCAA players home for Christmas. Strong belief some of these leagues will pause or shut down again.

Several area colleges are talking about going virtual for a while.

I fear another massive disruption.

Re: NESCAC on its way out...again

All over the sniffles. What a bunch of bs

Re: NESCAC on its way out...again

Get 3 jabs and still get cancelled. F that

Re: NESCAC on its way out...again

Lots of unhappy coaching staffs in NESCAC due to this ruling. Recruits not returning calls, this will be the end of NESCAC ice hockey for years to come.

Re: NESCAC on its way out...again

Strongly disagree.
The supply/demand ratio is totally in favor of the schools and coaches.
Extra elidgability due to C19.

Conference will rebound… guarantee it.
And yes the shutdown stinks

Nothing says shutting down in the announcement. NESCAC schools require two negative PCR tests prior to first game back after holidays. After that they require opponents weekly testing. Probably a couple of cancellations and postponements coming but I doubt anyone is canceling the season.

And with the NCAA fifth year option the leverage has shifted to coaches until 2024 at least, if not beyond. But keep on whining…

What's the point of requiring the vaccine if your going to test every week? Your looking for trouble. These schools will never get pass this virus, players will stop going to these schools. We continue to disrupt the lives of people who are least affective by this virus.

This poster can't possibly have a kid at a NESCAC school.
