There is a thread about NCDC on the board and 1 of the posts is obviously someone who personally knows a kid being referred to and is bashing the family for “promoting” him on Social Media. Do you get triggered by families who share or post on social media about athletic achievement? What about teams that post about players or share highlights? If bothered why continue to follow that person? FOMO?
Who cares if people post harmlessly about sports? Maybe they go overboard but so what.
With all the hate in the world being posted back and forth, especially around elections, that's the last thing we should be talking about.
When it comes to kids athletics I say post it all! I love seeing how kids have grown over the years and stuck with a sport, especially if you know the journey they took to get to where they are. I think the "haters" are just filled with jealousy and rage with their own lives that they get uncomfortable and come to an outlet like this to bash someone, but they will also smile at your or worst, your kids, face. I do agree though, you know some of the dirtbag parents your "friends" with on Facebook or Instagram and would expect nothing less. #****em
Yes there was. Stop giving attention to losers.
Anyone who uses facebook to post pictures of their kids or anything really is an attention seeking loser. Get a life.
I get it. Lots of people put much of their self value into social media and likes/follows these days.
I recall seeing someone post videos of their 7 year old skating/playing hockey last summer with the song 'The world's gonna know your name (The Script - Hall Of Fame)'. I mean come on.
OP here. So it looks like some are all in for posting sporting achievements and some against posting anything at all, ever, on social media. It bogles my mind that the people who are so against it are also the ones who go on Social Media. I think the Unfollow option would be best for you, its not Unfriending them, it just keeps you from having to see their posts no matter how cool their kids are.
No, no one is saying don't post anything ever. I'm just saying you get to know people on social media throughout the years. You know who the braggers are...it isnt people who just put up pics of a kid in a uniform or getting a goal...there's also lines added in of oh johnny got 3 goals in his game today, I'm so proud of this kid. People do that every week...after a while you wonder why they need everyone else on social to know.
There's also the people who constantly put things up about politics. I have deleted/unfriended people over that, particularly when it was something controversial to me.
People act very foolish on social media. I've had people I actually liked in person but hated on social media if that makes sense. They just seemed like two different people.
Saw a few kids that have been committed for about 3 years hitting twitter today. One more round of atta boys.
