Yeah I love how the junior "rules" change over time
The USHL was created to help develop US players for college hockey rather than have them go play Canadian Major where they would then be ineligible for college. So they wanted to limit the foreign born players to 4 per team because of this.
But then when it became all about winning and selling beers at the games, they came up with this awesome rule that if a foreign player played in the US for 2 years before coming to the USHL, they were considered a US player. Makes sense right?
