What happened? Nothing about daddy-coaches, greedy owners, benders who dont belong, elite kids going to the NHL? Nothing about mommy favors in the parking lot or drunk fathers getting in fights? Its early in the morning - lets give it some time!!!

no, just not going to try-outs!

Re: Tryouts

Sorry your kid can't make an ehf team. Otherwise you'd know that they are just starting now that the season is over. Enjoy your town hockey or bhl

Please refrain from patting yourself on the back about the all mighty EHF. The league overall is no better than town hockey. the top Teams in the SSC , SNEHC , Valley League and the Cape league would all compete with the top teams in the EHF. But since League rules do not permit those types of games feel free to live in your dream world paying $3500 a season for your kid to be a beer leaguer someday.

Re: Tryouts

Learn something about hockey since we know you never played and only live through your kid. I bet you were the one picked second to last during kickball so now you force your kid to Play "Elite" hockey to make up your short falls.

Who are you talking to as this makes no sense in the context of this thread. SMH

Wondered what the heck too. I love when posters behind their computer call out people for not ever playing hockey. It maybe be more overused than sorry your kid got cut. Wonder why he deleted it hmmmmm

no "your kid got cut" is the champion. hard to dethrone that one.

Re: Tryouts

I think tryouts can be summed up like this in recent years.

If your kid tries out for a club and does not make elite or Tier 1 they should probably find another sport or go play town.

Same thing if you think your kid should make elite and makes Tier 1, go play town.

Club programs are so watered down that any average town player can make these teams. If your kid cant make a Tier 1 team by age 10, save your money.

Saw some town kids at tryout that ain't no way makin the team..not even close

Re: Tryouts

So true - I saw Express elite embarrassed by Hyde Park town team Valley League in tournement, Yet they were able to win the Championship in their division in MP. Also this explains why the VHL is rated higher than the MPDHL

As I have said before, sorry your kid can't make it, got cut, is not the correct response and lacks the same humor when used by someone who has no clue. Yes, on and EHF team, yes, got the offer before tryouts...which started last night FYI, so yes I know exactly when they started, hence, the question this AM since there are usually posts the same night. SO, no I will NOT be enjoying town or BHL, but I'm sure there are plenty that do

Big hero who thinks your kids goin pro

I don't think I want to know a six-year-old who isn't a dreamer, or a sillyheart. And I sure don't want to know one who takes their student career seriously. I don't have a college degree. I don't even have a job. But I know a good kid when I see one. Because they're ALL good kids, until dried-out, brain-dead skags like you drag them down and convince them they're no good. You so much as scowl at my niece, or any other kid in this school, and I hear about it, and I'm coming looking for you!

Started last night know it all. Plenty of time for posting, usually starts as soon as people get home from the first tryout which was Monday

Re: Tryouts

Love people like you.

Answer me this - If my kid plays on the Bandits in the EHF is that better than playing on AI in the E9? Again it all comes down to 10 hours on the ice during a whole season!

You keep going around saying your kid plays in the EHF if that makes you feel better. Your the guy that shows up at Freshmen tryouts trying to hunt down the coach to tell him your son played in the EHF. I assure you his response is going to be that's great and could care less.

this is a thread about tryouts, why so sensitive about EHF vs E9/town or other

Well, we all know it wasn't the 06

Re: Tryouts

The 09, 08, & 07's elite all looked good for the Bandits...organization really putting effort to make them competitive with extra ice time and legit coach's.

Re: Tryouts

How about 05 06 Bandits? These were the 2 groups that were in trouble last year.

Re: Tryouts

I agree...05 & 06 Bandits are a disaster...just saying it looks like they are putting time and money to make their younger elite groups competitive. 70 min half sheets and full ice sheets for them. Plus doubling down on skills with Pothier

Re: Tryouts

and in trouble this year it appeared too !!

Re: Tryouts

Apparently the plan to bring the '06 Elite to Tier 1 hit a bump in the road and only 4 showed up at tryouts.

1 Tier 1 team now it seems.

That at least gives them a team of combined with those left in tier 1. Everyone knows the Elite players were really tier players. They literally moved a whole tier 1 team to elite. The only ones that were happy were the parents who have been chasing the elite dream. How do you think those poor players felt losing every game for two years straight

Re: Tryouts

Definitely saw one who commited verbally to a coach at another org at a different pegs tryout last night. Otherwise seemed pretty standard. Since most orgs seem to be picking up that second goalie it was interesting to see the goalies there

it's all coming!!!

Re: Tryouts

Bulldogs had a few studs show up at multiple levels, probably E9/BHL cuts.....

Re: Tryouts

I love the question posed by the OP. So EHF Elite, probably not many openings so it's a fund raiser as it is every year or as I say, why don't they just charge me an extra $100 each year. Tier 1 & EMHL almost always openings come tryouts, although with the number of open skates already conducted by teams, maybe that will be different this year. I don't think you'll read the vitriol for a few more days though, too soon. It's still really early so I say by Thursday you'll start reading the rants as night two wraps up and parents start to freak lil Johnny didn't make Elite and the org only offered him an EMHL contract. I'm betting based upon some of the older threads, you might see some parent v parent threads this year.

You are the the very reason hockey parents have a bad rap. Your ignorance is so apparent in how you chose to respond. I'm sure your kid hears this all the time and will soon follow in your steps. Here's a news flash. Your kid is not a star, he probably rides the 3rd line and you show your lack of intelligence by using the word retarded and calling kids terrible players when your really have no idea who you are responding to. Crawl back under your low class rock and and continue to think your kid is so great and everyone else's can't compete.

Not with genes like that.

Re: Tryouts

Tryouts are over for many of the programs and not nearly the vitriol of past years. Have we parents suddenly become more sane, did the coaches actually give families a heads up and did the parents stop going behind coaches backs? I'm not complaining but it seems strange that it's so quiet this year.

Re: Tryouts

Maybe mom and dad accepted that their 8 year old who is now 10/11 was not as good as they thought as kids progressed... or most likely, not god at all.

Re: Tryouts

What happened to teams posting the tryout results on their websites?
