i care because some are 9 years old and will be in the fourth grade and that is the turning point in youth hockey......isn't it
They're first year Squirts. I'm sure they have a few small kids who are fast and don't pass, and some big d-men. As someone stated they're 8, relax. You sound like a Saints dad fishing for info to see if anyone cares about them. Saints should hope that MS doesn't by Smithfield and kick them out there like they did at Lynch. Heard he put or wants to put an offer in to the town. Maybe this team will be good, but the rest of the Saints are terrible. Back filled teams with town 2/3 kids. Good luck 07 dad.
The problem is the Saints really don't have much ice at Smithfield, so let the caps keep overpaying to try to eliminate other programs, how that work out for them; the Saints have just as many teams as when they skated at Lynch.
Not a fan of the caps but from a business standpoint the North Stars and friars are both in bed with them so they made out okay financially I'd say. If your looking at the number of teams vs compete level, the Saints do have the same number you're correct. But from a compete level, not even close. The year they went to Fed from Hockey Northeast they had strong teams, competed in JWK top divisions at some levels etc. Now they'd be lucky to play in the White division in Fed at many levels. When you take kids from Town 2/3 teams and EMHL Friar players, that can't be good. Kids do progress so maybe they found a few kids who were over looked, but it seems like they found some parents who needed to feel good about themselves and wear some Saints Elite bling around town.
Sorry you are correct, 1st year Squirts (8 years old) is a crucial turning point in one's hockey career. Make it or break it. I also think that is when the NHL scouts first start showing up at games and practices.
This team will compete in the Elite 9 right from the start.
They'll successfully compete in the parity tournament for an E9 spot. This team is well coached.
these are first year squirts. who knows if any of them will even grow in the summer. and who is coaching this team that you are so confident in?
