06 Brick Team

Anyone have any info on this team? A website, or a way to follow them? Heard they are loaded and it would be awesome to see them capture the championship in Edmonton. Be a boost for Mass. Hockey in general. I know a few kids on the team, very good players, but just want to be able to keep tabs on them. And please people, don't turn this thread into a what league/player/daddy influence etc. Enjoy this team, and root them on. They are 10, and doing their best. Don't forget that... and no, I am not a parent of a kid on the team.

Last years team was loaded. Good team this year tho. Just go to the brick website buddy it's all online these days.

Re: 06 Brick Team

Thanks for the info guys. Last years team made the quarters and lost to a canadian team. Tough draw. I'll check out the current Brick website and see what it gives for info. So excited for these kids.

Re: 06 Brick Team

Playing in Toronto this weekend. Should be a good test.

Where do we watch this online? I don't see it online anywhere.

Re: 06 Brick Team

Not all tournaments are online

Re: 06 Brick Team

Playing in Pro Hockey Bauer Spring Shootout this weekend. Tied Toronto Bulldog brick team yesterday and Bulldogs org won brick last year. Beat some scrub team yesterday afternoon and have two games today. They should make it to semi's if they take care of biz. Junior Bruins website twitter has results and small write up of each game.

Re: 06 Brick Team

Nah.... Limited info available at this time. Did they win, lose or draw?

Re: 06 Brick Team

Go trim your root!

Re: 06 Brick Team

My kid didn't make the Brick team, but I remember being interested in seeing how his winter teammates did at the tourney. Watched the games online. It was fun.

It's a couple years later now and the idea that anyone would give a crap about a squirt major hockey game is funny. Things change so fast, it really does mean nothing. But I completely understand getting caught up in it.

Re: 06 Brick Team

Was that Tyler Seguin video a clip from the Brick? Maybe it does matter.

Re: 06 Brick Team

It's a huge money trap but a great experience if you can afford it. A complete waste of time and money if you are struggling to pay for it. In my opinion

I am sure Tyler Seguin would be a NHL'er even if he didn't play at the Brick. Its a very cool tournament and something you can take some great memories from. It won't be a difference maker if your kid makes the NHL or not.

Re: 06 Brick Team

^ What, you mean the NHL scouts won't be talking notes at a 10 year old hockey tournament?!

So Seguin is in the NHL because he played at the Brick?

Or better yet, your kid is a first liner in HS because he played in the Brick?

Maybe this is your first go around. I would just be quiet and see how things play out before you speak up like an authority.

Maybe being exposed to the highest level of play for your age group motivates a kid to continue to work hard and remain in that select group of top players. Maybe the kid has confidence having played at the highest level and he might just carry that with him for years to come. Maybe, just maybe.

Maybe, but there's a big difference between playing at the highest level as a 10 year old and reaching your highest level as a player. The first isn't a prerequisite for the second, and the second doesn't depend on the first.

Hey, if my kid made it, I would have signed on and gone to watch him play. I'm sure we both would have had a great experience. I'm not knocking anyone. Just commenting that in a few short years you may look back on squirt hockey and wonder why it mattered so much.

I might feel differently if we had made the trip to Edmonton. Maybe.

Maybe you hit the lottery, maybe you get hit by a car, maybe you keep throwing good money after bad because people who stand to gain from your ignorance keep saying maybe. Maybe I'm siting at a baseball field right now getting ready to watch my son play baseball under the lights on a beautiful spring night without a thought of hockey in his head and loving every minute of it. Maybe.

Maybe your kid ain't thinking about hockey.... But you are.... I bet you never even played big guy but maybe you would have been elite if you did.

Re: 06 Brick Team

It was about 50 degrees tonight and felt a lot colder with the wind. Wasn't exactly a nice spring night to watch the kid play baseball. Wishful thinking.

Re: 06 Brick Team

Yes, 50 degrees with a 30 degree wind chill. No thanks, enjoy your 3 hours of bordom and freezing your tail off

Re: 06 Brick Team

You guys sound really petty and pathetic

Re: 06 Brick Team

Well Mr. 7:19pm your post certainly back fired on you and you look like a fool. Carry on now!

Re: 06 Brick Team

I'm trying tp thaw my fingers out after my hot sjower. Game was great, 12-1 threee Anda half hours and I caught a foul balll off my shin. Got to get my hands back undet the fausett,

Re: 06 Brick Team

also need to get back to complete third grade so that you could spell 'faucet' correctly

Re: 06 Brick Team

I think his hands were still frozen....or didn't you pick that up?

Re: 06 Brick Team

My kid and I watched the brick last summer and he was so excited that he wanted to try out the following summer. As try outs approached he changed his mind for admirable reasons and probably saved me the try out fee of $300 bucks cuz talking to a few parents from behind the scenes, it appears that the team was mostly picked before try outs. Despite knowing that I think it would have been fun for him to compete against other pretty good kids. Competition brings the best (and sometimes the worst) out of people and I'm curious how my son would have reacted not making the team.

I couldn't agree more!

Re: 06 Brick Team

Yeah, because had seguin, towes and stamkos not gone they wouldn't be where they are today.
