Re: E9 Parity Tournament

Well if your coach is squared away you will have had a couple of practices, played in a few tournaments and then you also have your "team camp" just prior to parity and have your "new" team together for 8 hour days four days in a row at that camp.

Even just the Lovell Team Camps are great for getting the kids together, square away lines, special teams and address other small issues.

In my opinion Lovell does it right with their prep going into the parity as opposed to EHF playing parity tourneys a week after evals, but what do I know ?

Re: E9 Parity Tournament

Lovell get's it right? You have no clue. They started all team camps this summer because they have been not been able to fill there regular camps. Use to have a combo 8 week on/off ice camp in the early years but have been trying to find the cheese the last 4-5 years. Much more competition now. Last few years constantly changing schedules, locations, types of camps/clinics. E9 parity good luck!! You will not know your game schedule for the season until last week in Septemeber.

Re: E9 Parity Tournament

They still have multiple summer camps including the 8 week and several other options. Sure they probably are not filling up, but remember that they do limited advertising.

The "team camp" is a great idea for getting the team together for an extended period of time prior to parity that they have been doing for a few years.

It's ok, I guess its not for everyone. You can wait until September to find out who is on your roster and if your coach is still coaching !

clearly, you do not think that a team camp is a bad idea ?? and have some issue with Lovell Hockey ?

I would assume that most everyone here is anticipating playing hockey Saturday and Sunday during the season ? Can't imagine anyone being suprised by a schedule in September !

wait, why do the e9 parents all bash the ehf for having their parity so early. Really, how many practices have you gotten in as a team to have a parity in August.

They will at least have more chance to get practices in with new players before the tournament than EHF does when they have their tournament a week after tryouts. And the E9 tournament isn't really a tournament. It takes place over the course of September. The EHF "parity" tournament is just a way for the founding member organizations to sell more ice time.

Re: E9 Parity Tournament

The EHF parity sets the season schedule black vs white. Huge importance.

Bottom of that White may as well be Town Cs.

Not a fan of the EHF way getting it in the week after tryouts. No time to gel at all with new players/lines. Given the impact of the competition level you'll play for the next calendar season there should be a month to practice and get a better grip on your team makeup.

EHF is too quick with parity.

E9 is too late.

Re: E9 Parity Tournament

Parity doesn't matter for either league. Those kids (BHL and Tier white/black) are the dregs of the leagues, so who cares. Elite is where its at! Be great to see a season ending tournament between the top 4 teams each from Elite EHF vs. Elite E9. 8 teams, round robin style over a 3 game set, then playoffs between the 4 teams with the best records with and a final between the best two teams.

Re: E9 Parity Tournament

Get over the "elite" nonsense. Big marketing tool that a lot of people fall for. E9 and EHF will never play in a tournament against each other

Re: E9 Parity Tournament

Playing a summer league team right now with a mix of EHF Elite and Tier 1, E9, and BHL.

You'd be hard pressed as a neutral observer to pencil who plays for what.

Enjoy that Elite tag at 8-9-10.

Surely nothing changes.
