Most of the teams here are also in the mini chowder. Good warm up
I take Naps, they are refreshing.
Only retired people, college kids and Kings take naps. Congratulations!
So Beantown Naps states "NAPS Beantown is one of the most highly scouted elite hockey showcase tournaments in North America. Since NAPS founding, the Showcase Series had seen over 500 graduates play professional or NCAA Division I."…..yet there was maybe 5 rosters available thrown on a desk in the main hallway. For almost a $2000 entry fee and then a $20 gate fee maybe they should have printed booklets for "scouts/coaches"? Just a thought….
Unfortunately, you had National Festival(99's), U18 Hub Cup, Road to College and NHL draft, going on at the same time. Talent was pretty good though. Some real good players and fair bit of college coaches wandering about
Yes. This is an age old problem. The kids give it 100%, the parents pay their fees, everyone there is doing their best....YET THEY (the teams and the promoters, you know the people making $ at this) CAN'T PUT THE NAMES ON A SHEET!
Sorry your kid didn't get recruited
Your kid doesn't need his name on a sheet of paper at a tournement. If the kid looks good a scout will talk to the coach after the game.
Yeah, you should be able to predict the future and know in advance if the tournament organizers or teams are slackers and only interested in cashing checks.
Agree. "I'll hand you the tournament fee check when I see a printed roster" should be every parent's motto.
Wow, all this collective harrumphing is pretty comical.
Do you guys believe in leprechauns and unicorns, too?
All this trouble for maybe 20 kids with a future, even fewer with the potential to earn a single dollar playing hockey. The rest of us are all lining someone's pockets with our hopes and dreams of hockey glory, or to get some twisted version of bragging rights.
Guys, for 99% of us we should be trying to get our kid that moment in HS when he has hundreds of boys and girls screaming and yelling for his team, and the ability to walk the halls with his head held high knowing that he's part of a team that others wish they could make. Those are the things that will stick with him from hockey. That could be prep, catholic, public...wherever your kid fits in. It's up to us to be realistic about where that is, and set our expectations accordingly.
Let me polish up the crystal bit for you and fill you in that there were ZERO (0) scouts at BT Naps so whoever is crying about no rosters don't worry your kid wasn't missed by anyone.
