October 14, 2016.....put it on the board!
Lovell told me December 1.
I have no association with Lovell Hockey, but even if the 95 Giants get off to a slow start next season, there's no doubt they are ultimately going to hit it out of the park with their new digs at the New England Sports Village. Besides being a premier sports facility, it is perfectly located to attract players from a wide area.
The Giants team camps were very well run, albeit light on attendance at 05/04 level, by their skill instructors from BA and AI.
Same thing for LKs. Face it, the BA ship has sailed!
Had a good thing going and greed got in the way. They are now all friends and family. I know two coaches at two different levels that they could've gotten and their kids are very good but they insist on picking the teams themselves, so they lost out. They stuck with the same coaches who can't develop or retain players. Shame. They have good skills but there's more than that to the season to keep people around.
Giants have posted the coaches for every team on their website.
Any idea when rink is opening?
I'll bet drinks at the Christmas Part it is open before November 2016
How did these teams do in parity?
Here you go!
Will it open in October?
Oct 14 .... There you go all you haters ...sorry your kid didn't make the team
That's fantastic. Will it be all the rinks or just one?
"They literally did not cut one kid..."
Thank God they didn't literally cut a kid! They would be in serious trouble depending upon the severity of the wounds.
How many teams had to forfeit games bc they were short players?
Anyone know anything about the girls program they are starting?
Its in the works, Lovell will have a girls program next year I am guessing.
Swung by today, no ice so no dice! Looks like it's gonna be a while. May be time for another puff piece article.
The building isn't even close. Anyone interested should just look for themselves like the previous poster.
Teams won't be skating there until Jan. Basically, they've been lying the whole time on Sept/Oct.
Looks like these posters were correct. No rink until 2017 now according to builder.
Don't be surprised if your kid is asking you if he / she can play for the Giants in the next year or two.
You clearly have no idea what you are talking about
Probably... possibly.... but since I don't live in that area I am pretty confident my son wont be asking to drive further to play hockey in a new facility with a bad team. I am also willing to bet people will not be passing over other programs to play there because of the new facility. Most of the players they got so far that are not from that area were cut by LK, BA, or other programs.
Im guessing the point of the post wasnt to imply you would drive from Boston-north to play for the 95 giants. I am giving the benefit of the doubt when they said that "your kid would want to play there" was meaning the local kids. And i know most of the kids there now were probably cut from others but it is year 0 for them so lets not put the dagger through them just yet.
And Ryan Lochte was robbed!!!!
The Kings and caps are probably the worst place you can have your kid play as a Bantam. At a critical juncture in their development the focus is still on just winning. Kids really need to learn how to play the game at that age. They don't need to go to practice doing the same breakout trails over and over. The best thing I did was take my kid out of that program.
No, he didn't.
Who said anything about those factors being important as to where kids play?
This season for the new 95 Giants will be full of ups and downs. But, within a couple seasons this organization will be epic!
Why all the hype for a team full of 21 year olds? Isn't it time for these boys to move on with their lives?
Scrimmages start next week with parity tourney to follow. Let's see how the new teams stack up.
04s appear to be a solid BHL National team.
When does Attleboro open?
So does that mean nothing until the new year?
Surprise is in store
Most teams heading to American BHL.
Yes, most are heading to the American division in BHL. Overall not a bad showing for the teams at all age levels for a first year program.
you mean except for the cheating.....
What do you mean?
Maybe take a gander at the multiple other threads addressing it. No need to pile it on here too !
How did these teams do overall within Parity? Do people feel they are on par with where a new program should be?
I guess if you consider that most teams will be in the American Division of the BHL in the first year. The 04 team had a legit shot at the E9 and played very well in parity. The 07 team has some good young skaters and gave some returning E9 teams a run, but in the end fell short. The 03, 05, 06 teams need some work and could easily be in the National Division of the BHL.
No, this is not true.
Rink looking good on schedule for October!
Why would they ask to be moved to National, if it wasn't part of a penalty?
No way would JF agree to be moved to National Division, ain't happening.
These teams are set!
My kids did make Giants teams. Why wouldn't I be excites to get the best arena in Mass and the best skills too?
I think what they're trying to say is you're spending a lot of money and not going to see much in return playing for the Lovell's these days. They turned into terrible programs. But hey, you can get a Dunkin' Donuts when your son is doing the same drill over and over on skills night!
It's still better than playing in any rink in Rhode Island.
