The Hurricanes are a very solid program, even though they don't play in the strongest of leagues. The kids are treated well, get good instruction, and have fun. They provide an excellent option for kids on the Cape, and play out of that beautiful two-rink facility in Hyannis.

Anyone who underates the 'Canes or bashes our teams or league, has never played us. It's that simple. Most of our teams are way more competitive than EHF Tier 1 Black teams - no contest. One of the best skills programs, too.

What year?

Have you played a few recently to validate this?

Yes sir! Check prior posts and tourney results. But It's pretty obvious a kook like you never played us due to the ehf - e9 bubble world u live. You doubt us bc team and league afraid to play us. So sad.

Wow.

A little sensitive.

I've read the whole thread and didn't see a specific year mentioned. Step up and list it and who they beat routinely in EHF Tier 1 Black if you want the credit you crave.

Until then it's just in your head.

Barnstable A team would crush these guys but they won't play them bc they believe they are an elite program, so sad.

Re: Hurricanes

wow get a clue! Barnstable A kids don't make hurricanes teams they are cut every year!! The few that have are their best kids. Why would they leave town to pay $$ to play if the Canes teams weren't better. hmmm..Jackass! No one said they thought they were elite they just said they could compete with EHF teams and they have. 2005 team has beat several elite teams (Jr. Rangers, Eastcoast Spartans and they beat several teams Top Gun elite lost too). They can't move up because no EHF or E9 teams will play them because they will embarrassed if they lose. They beat every team in MPHL team by 10 goals or more 2 years in a row. They left the league to get competition. The team is different this year so not sure how they will do but the last 2 years they were a force!

What about this guy working with Sherman to build the sports complex and start their own program because of all the kids driving off cape for hockey programs? Didn't sound right to me and haven't heard great things about this guy. Wonder what league he plans on putting teams in?

Very few kids drive off cape to play hockey! Get a clue! I think there are 5 kids on the whole cape that leave to play...

Inaccurate. I can think of at least a few dozen kids from the cape that play for Bandits, Knights, Advantage, Kings. There are even kids driving off cape to play town hockey in other organizations.

Re: Hurricanes

I love this. Talking about kids who are "recruited" to prep schools who played in a middle division of a suspect league against terrible teams. Clearly your confusing mommy and daddy writing big checks to private schools with the hopes the little guy makes JV with "being recruited".

So let's talk FACTS. Here you go buddy. Check out your FACTS.
http://www.myhockeyrankings.com/team_info.php?y=2015&t=19803

Lost to 5 different MPDHL teams. 3 of them really bad. Conquistadors? Really?
They lost to the lowly Lovell Knights.
Got smoked by a mediocre Patriots team.
Tied the Outlaws 2nd team.
Lost to Comcast's 3rd team.
Tied the Blazers Select team. (Consider quitting the sport on this one)

I think it's great the Canes seem loyal to each other. Let's just be honest here. Losing 12 games against really bad teams is hardly something to be boasting about.

As far as the 05's go, congrats on beating Natick, Framingham, Hyde Park and Woonsocket. World Beaters. Also, no record of playing any EHF Elite teams, so keep telling the parents you are great landscaper. http://www.myhockeyrankings.com/team_info.php?y=2015&t=19803

Well that certainly was a kill shot.

Re: Hurricanes

Not when he's wrong! We all saw the kid get recruited and know he is not paying, also know the 2 other kids going to prep. Also the 02 going to Boston advantage ! working on getting scores of out of league games from 2005.

I'm with the OP on this one. A few dozen my a$$. The best players on the Cape stay on the Cape. A few double dip to get extra skills and ice time elsewhere, but the best ones go to the 'Canes period. I guess a puffter like you enjoys spending $2K at PV Hockey for never breaking a sweat and he'll do jack for you with next level networking. 'Canes have contacts in D1 Hokey East, Ivies, Jr hockey, Preps and KHL. And there is no way in hell that BYHA ( a very good town program - Mass squirt champs last year ) is better than them.

Re: Hurricanes

Nope ! Absolutely not true! A few dozen wow you are one of those jerks in the board who just spews nonsense!
1 Barnstable kid played full time bandits 02 AAA. 1 dennis kid who was cut from hurricanes played 02 bandits elite. No lower cape or outer cape kids going off cape (only 1 did last year). 1 Falmouth 04 is going up this year ... There was another Barnstable kid 2 years ago on bandit 02 elite who stinks. 1 sandwich kid is going to Boston advantage . 1 kid a few years ago played terriers. A few 02 who are in 8th grade will play off cape because the 02 team broke up to play for their schools. A few other kids play as alternates on off cape teams to get more games in.
Most of those were past tense and not full time and it still doesn't make a dozen ! Talk about what you know and don't make **** up.

Re: Hurricanes

Actually all 3 coaches played college ... And 3 kids recruited to elite ehf and 3 kids recruited to play at prep..,pretty good for cape team!

Re: Hurricanes

You are kidding, right? What, Cape Cod Academy and Cape Cod Tech are now Prep Schools? Funny Ha Ha. Best player went to Lovell Knights. Breakers totally imploded at 02 level so if you own skates you made the team, and Lovell is happy to take anyone's money. There are 4 good 02 teams left at EHF Elite level. Kings, Flames, Terriers and Islanders. If not on those teams then the Hurricanes kid is simply filling a tuition. Good luck with that though.

Re: Hurricanes

One is going to Cushing Academy and one Bellmont hill!! One defenseman got into Eaglebrook, Hillside and Fessenden is going and not paying. One defenseman is playing Boston Advantages top team. You really have no idea.

What prep school did your kid get into? Is he a straight A student and athlete? hmmmmm probably not with a dad who talks before checking the facts.

OK, Eaglebrook, Hillside, and Fessenden are middle schools, not prep schools, and no one gets into for free, unless your destitute

Re: Hurricanes

they are junior prep schools and they give you the $$ if they want you!

Re: Hurricanes

They are prep schools you A-hole! Junior Prep and they do give full scholarships and merit! A kid from Nantucket got recruited the year before who also played hurricanes and now he is going to Phillips Exeter! Wow stupid people on this board!!

Re: Hurricanes

WRONG! your son obviously won't get in because you are an idiot!

Re: Hurricanes

Now there are only 4 teams that are decent at the 02...you are delusional! I feel bad for your kid having to deal with such a unhappy dad who obviously only thinks his kid and team are the best. It is so wonderful kids are getting into great schools from playing hockey! That is what it is all about playing a sport they love and opening up opportunities for them. Meeting life long friends, playing for their schools and learning so much more along the way! Good for them!

Re: Hurricanes

Hi RL! Way to pump your program. Nice record with the 02 team you couldn't keep together. Definitely elite!

Re: Hurricanes

RL? Funny where the top 02 kids ended up from your team? not nearly as good as the hurricane 02's top 5!! BTW- How are the Breakers 02 elite and bandits 02 elite going to do this year??

Re: Hurricanes

I can name at least 20 players from level '04-'09 playing off cape....Bandits, Kings, Terriers, Advantage and Lovell Knights.... FACT

I'm not sure I would admit that, even if it were true. Don't you think that's a little creepy?

Not surprised it sounds creepy. WN is the king of quoting numbers of kids leaving to go off cape to play hockey. That's how he's selling his new rink but the numbers are always wrong. . First article was about 70 kids going to the fed programs to play. Wrong. And when he was teaching skills (also laughable) and looking at the 35 kids who drove to the Bandits from the Cape........ Wrong again.

Anything to get people to his rink I guess

That averages about 3 per birth year. Not enough to make a team in the Cape or affect any program in the Cape
