I need some help and advice. My son is not playing as much as i think he should. Do i talk to the coach, send my wife to handle it or have my son address the situation? Thanks for your help dboard!
What age, and how much of a difference is there between what you percieve and what you "think he should?"
Every parent thinks their kid should play more. Few are correctly assessing their kid.
But, at younger ages, the coach should be rolling the lines. If he is giving his kid and the other coaches' kids preferential plauying time, he is a bad coach and you're stuck. Or you can look for a team that has a need.

I believe the correct dboard answer is, if the coach is married but doesn't have any kids on the team he'd probably appreciate you taking care of it. If he's married or divorced with a kid on the team he would clearly want your wife taking care of it. If he's one of those single, non daddy coaches who raves about all the fun he had in Catholic or prep school, he would definitely want your kid taking care of it, so I would find another team really fast.
