Really, I don't frequent this site often. Ok. I'll admit I enjoy reading the occasional drama I come upon, but sometimes its so apparent that kids hockey can consume some people. It's unfortunate that these kids are the one that are often done with hockey before they even learn to check because they are over skated over pressured and the game is no longer fun for them. A parent who has nothing better to do than worry about the best 8-11 year old records had no idea what it's all about. Good luck to your kid sir

maybe the op was looking for people to tell him the good teams so he can check them out. Maybe he has kids that he may be looking to move and just wants to see what comes up? whats wrong with that?
here's the deal. no surprise - it is a balance. winning is important to the extent that the kids have fun. winning is fun. how many losers do you see with a smile on their face? it sucks to see 8/9/10 years old lose 90% of there games and cry. to much adversity hurts development. at the same time, there is very little to learn from winning 90% of the games. not enough adversity and you will not grow the compete level. mistakes that are not taxed will continue until you are told that you are benched or worse, cut.
development happens when there is reasonable success and obstacles over- come. having fun and growing the passion are a necessity to get kids to the next level from mites on up to NHL. EHF or E9 does not matter. it is more important to find a coach who understands this balance, teaches the game, puts kids in a position to succeed so the collective group can win games which creates a positive feedback loop. if the kid has a smile on his face, shows up committed to work hard and has reasonable success then passion will grow - true development!
if as a kid, you win all your elite youth hockey games, you are better than everyone else in the world and it must be true because your parents told you so.
So is anyone going to answer the question??????
