This is from the qual rules on site :

If any player that is on the USA roster of a team that has already qualified for the Elite 9 participates for any other team in the Elite 9 or BHL qualifying tournament, both the PLAYER and TEAM will be removed from the qualifying tournament and will be expelled for the current season.


Hmmm. seems pretty clear to me that someone on the roster of a E9 team cant play for any other team. Player and Team are expelled for current season.


Right and these players were not on a roster of a team already qualified for E9. Your missing the whole loop hole pal. BA 06E hasn't played a regular season game yet. If they had done this in October you would have a violation but up to this date you don't.
Go ask a first year law student and they will tell you the same dummy.

OK. How about this one:

"Any team that has a player that fails to meet the minimum game requirement of 75% after playing in any of that team’s Elite 9 or BHL qualifying games will be excluded from the playoffs and will be expelled from both the Elite 9 and BHL for the subsequent season"

So at best, these players in question are suspended for the following season if they don't play 75% of the 05 giants games, which they have zero chance. Cut and dried.

However, when the people who make the rules, break the rules, nothing ever will be done. If you expect it to, then find another league. Fed is almost as bad. Face it. Youth Hockey is very very corrupt. Always has been, always will be..

That rule means if a team uses a player that hasn't met that criteria then they are penalized. So if team used a player who didn't play in 75% of games then they get spanked.

This never plays out because the teams that have to bring in other kids never make the playoffs.

Only reason its an issue now is because it significantly affected the rankings of three teams in parity.

Team Rosters:

All teams must be registered with Massachusetts Hockey or a USA Hockey Affiliate District. Official USA Hockey rosters must be submitted to the appropriate district/select/club registrar by the applicable deadline.
“Elite 9” Rosters must be submitted to the league office prior to August 15th.
Birth certificates of those players on the roster must be made available to the league officials upon request.

seams like it says roster must be submitted by a deadline that O Look the next point says August 15th not September 24th

what other excuses will come. They cheated. They got Caught. As with Hilary nothing will happen and people will see it and look elsewhere next year. Its crap like this that puts the league in a bad light.

KP's kid was the difference maker and only reason they won two games.

Wosrt thing is they did it against their own program, people were not happy especially the AV's

^ this. Just a bad look the way it went down, would normally go unnoticed if that player did not have such an impact on a few games. And it was done on purpose, as they were not short players.

Wrong again these kids didn't play in another qualifier. You lost get over it. As for them doing this against their own program well how much longer do you think that program will be around for???

I was in two different rinks yesterday and that was all everyone was talking about. I could careless and still went home and read the rules(because I am an attorney, I felt compelled).
The players involved are expelled and the team they play for is suspended.
This will hold up in a court of law. If the organized involved push it.

Gallant would near let his teams pull this crap. If they did he would stand up and take the punishment. That is why the E9/Bhl will never compete with the Efed.

I don't think this was as malicious as it being made to be. Basically, the 95G were short players and were going to have to forfeit games on Saturday and from what I hear that is an auto dis qualifier for the year and you are out of the league.

In order to avoid that they scrambled calling people and had 15 kids show up, they played them all, which as a parent I would not be happy with a hour drive to be told we couldn't play.

heck, rumor was that they didn't even have a goalie and the Knights got them one for their game.

SO this was not done intentionally to "cheat".

It went bad after the fact as they had not won a game up to that point, wining the next two games in the final minutes of each, by the 06E kids scoring 98% of the goals and coming form behind to beat both teams.

Hey, still not a big deal. just eat it and play on. But since it was such a clear cut violation people started making a stink.

So an "elite" team cant field enough players to play, Takes kids from other organizations (against the Rules) Cant win a game with normal roster but wins 2 games with "needed" players and your telling people to go back to town hockey? Why so they can not have people cheating them out $3500 and breaking rules across the board. Thats a good take.

Not really, that's not the whole point. Not sure how much involvement you have in this, but as an involved party as a parent on one of the teams that this cost a win I was explaining that this was not done solely to get better players to get this team a win.

But my main point is that the punishment is severe. Do you want to kick the few 10 year olds out of the league for the year and want to kick the entire Giants 05 team out of the league at this point in the season. Think about the kids, it was not their fault and they should not be penalized so severely. Hey they just want to play hockey.

The parity standings should be changed and they should forfeit those games, which at the end of the day it still doesn't change anything. Basically they should just take away the ineligible players goals for those games, which coincidentally was all of them

I feel bad for some of the kids and parents as it is, their rostered players barely touched a puck in those two games.

I dont feel bad for anyone in this situation. Choose your teams and people you follow carefully. People are so crazy and want their kids to play "elite" hockey they make bad decisions. And if a team needed a bunch of Squirts to win games against some pee wees then all three teams should be regulated to the BHL national because that is just SAD.

Really? Two 06 players had that kind of impact on these games? I wouldn't consider either kid an all-star at the 06 level anyway. What kind of teams are these? I could see a two good players running around against town teams but even that is a stretch at this age.

Maybe six kids on the ice during that Knights/Giants game would make a Town A team.

They are two inexperienced bad BHL national teams, so an above average 06E player can skate circles around entire lines. A lot of it appeared to be golatending issues too. SO probably everyone who got a shot off would have scored but it was only the 06's. sad but true.

I think the score went from 5-2 to 5-6 in the last couple of minutes with one kid scoring four of the five in the knights game

same kid scored the game winner againts the Avs with 30 seconds left, and he had at least three in that game

He's an 06 playing in an 05 game. Gimme a break. He made a few plays and your team lost big deal now let it go. If it was an infraction there would have been a suspension by today. It's not a big deal now get over it people. These guys are just trying to develop as many kids as possible. You should have a little more respect for them and what they do. At the end of the day it's not about winning and losing or whi scored the goal. It's about the kids play a competitive sport and having fun, playing with their peers under the direction of a great coach.

Another idiot on the Dboard. They Broke the clearly stated rules. they should be punished. i would agree maybe not to the extreme the rules state but some form of punishment was needed. And it was a parity round so winning does matter in this case. I doubt they were in the locker room before these games this weekend with the coaches telling the kids to "work on your passing and not worry so much about winning"

I would completely agree if they were short players and they found some players to fill in that fit right in with everyone else and had little to no impact on the game either way. From what I am reading one kid had seven or eight goals in two games - not exactly blending in by my definition. An entire team could end up playing in the wrong division all year because of this tampering. It seems crazy to kick kids and coaches and teams out of the league over it. I think his point was these teams already missed the boat on E9. Not much of s difference between American and National. The Giants would have pulled through if the whole team had made the game so not a big deal.

^^ are you actively trying to be stupid? Tampering with the outcome of games in parity can change the division a team gets placed in. I would completely agree if they were short players and they found some players to fill in that fit right in with everyone else and had little to no impact on the game either way. From what I am reading one kid had seven or eight goals in two games - not exactly blending in by my definition. An entire team could end up playing in the wrong division all year because of this tampering. It seems crazy to kick kids and coaches and teams out of the league over it. I think a fair consequence would be that they forfeit those games. The teams they did this to shouldn't have to suffer by taking a loss in parity and they shouldn't be rewarded for their choice with wins in parity. Maybe put the coaches and players on probation as well - let them stay but the next incident is zero tolerance. I can't imagine that the BA kids or their parents thought it through - chalk it up as a bad choice, slap on the wrist, lesson learned.


I think his point was these teams already missed the boat on E9. Not much of s difference between American and National. The Giants would have pulled through if the whole team had made the game so not a big deal.


I would agree here... Not much of a difference at the 05 level. Both American or National will be fine for either team placement. Just enjoy the ride parents it's over before you know it. Not worth bickering over this stuff as it's not important in your child's development.

It's very early in the season, kids will pass more and gel more overtime. If a player over looks a pass here and there at this point it's not really a big deal so I wouldn't worry about it. If it's happening in January then you have a problem. Gotta let the kids play. A lot of these little things work themselves out over time.

Gallant would near let his teams pull this crap. If they did he would stand up and take the punishment. That is why the E9/Bhl will never compete with the Efed.
Let's see if KP and TL are solid guys and take the punishment. Oh and there is no loophole.

I believe the exact situation happened 2-3 years ago at the 2003 level with the Cyclones. Brought in some ringers, qualified for the E9, and then the ringers were never seen again.

IIRC, the league came down hard on the coach. I believe he was even banned. Maybe somebody closer to that situation has more details.

And when you all accept that this has nothing to do with fairness or player development, and EVERYTHING to do with the money being made by a select few people - this will all become very clear. But then, the D-Board won't be nearly as fun!
