Yes you are. The op was asking who the top teams are. That's all. Not some soliloquy about fairness and getting better and hard work and who is going to play where is 7 years. Every hockey parent knows these points because its beat to death by people like you. Lighten up a little. The Guy was just asking opinions on teams because right now he was trying to have some fun and talk about hockey.
What gets beaten to death are these endless back-and-forths between PARENTS of whose team is better than whose. The parent care far more about win-loss records and MHR rankings that the kids do.

Parents should be asking which teams are best at developing their kids, and what makes that so? I'd even settle for a discussion about who the top coaches are, and why.

Nope. It's always about which team is better, and that usually leads down the rathole of actually criticizing individual players. Individual 9/10 year old players.

Pathetic.

Maybe we are tired of hearing that "its all about development" crap. Yeah people who throw that one out there are the parents on the teams that always lose. Why are these kids playing then? why not just practice 5 days a week. Who cares about the games. We should scrap these leagues all together and have big jam sessions with cones and music and shooter tutors. We should hand out medals every time they take a stride to ensure happy feelings. .00001% might play some form of professional hockey or play D1 college so now is the time for wins and losses. they need to learn the joy and work ethic it takes to win. they also need to take some bumps and learn how to lose with dignity and class and get those pits in their stomach so they never want to feel that way again. The week ones will quit and play soccer or pokemon and the strong ones will be left to play good competitive hockey and work for a shot at a varsity spot in HS or even collage.

So all those clutch wins in squirt hockey helped you how? Certainly didn't help you learn to spell.

Re: Pick the top.....

if as a kid, you win all your elite youth hockey games, you are better than everyone else in the world and it must be true because your parents told you so.

Re: Pick the top.....

So is anyone going to answer the question??????

no the Dboard has voted and its a stupid question. You all pay a ton of money for "development" not wins and losses so who cares who is on top.

Right! We know the answer to the answer to that is NO. Because being on a winning team does not mean your kid is any good. How many of those "winning teams" have 3rd liners that aren't even going to make the HS team? The whole reason that my point was...being on a winning team isn't the end all be all. I want my kid on a team that is competitive, he gets play time and he gets better. Stop focusing on who's winning at 9. Your HS coach isn't

So your saying 3rd liners on a "competitive" team are better off somehow?
