Will Islanders, Kings, Bandits, etc cost over $4k next year?

with the usphl going tuition free at its highest level rumor is that cost is picked up by youth hockey teams. I have heard anywhere from 4-5k next year. Will this make people look elsewhere?

Re: Will Islanders, Kings, Bandits, etc cost over $4k next year?

Not a chance the USPHL will be Tier 1 and tuition free next year. There is no market for this for many, many reasons.

1) Facilities not large enough or nice enough to sell 500 - 1000+ seats a game, which is what it takes to make for a profitable organization. Go to USPHL Premier game. Lucky if there are 75 people there.

2) No market. College concentration levels are way to high in the Northeast for the no-pay juniors option. Sorry, but people will pay to watch a college game (D1 or D3) but won't pay more than $10 to watch a Juniors game.

There was a post earlier this year about the Northeast Generals going to the NAHL. Didn't happen. Why? No market for that in this area. They are back in the NA3HL, which is a questionable league at best. More in line with Mass Div. 1 HS hockey.

Like youth (EHF, E9/BHL and others) Juniors has become a giant money grab. USPHL and EHL at the Premier levels are ok....the Elite and below are where the organizations make their money. Praying on the delusional stupid parents who think their kid has it.

USPHL HP Youth division will be riddled with Tier 2 teams like this year. Nobody is jumping ship from the EHF to join it, trust me. Kings, Islanders, whoever else. Not going to happen. They will rope in other organizations and collect the fees. Too much travel and competition is horrible. Case in point. Kings beat one of the U14 teams 10-0 and chose not to shoot on net in the 3rd period.

1. Generals do have a Tier 2 team ( no pay to play).
2. USPHL has already announced that next years premiere will be tuition free ( Tier 2).

3. You already made the case why it will work: because the delusional parents will pay. Not only that, but now you can be in an organization that pipelines to Tier 2 juniors. " If you build it they will come"

IMHO they will succeed. It makes sense. 99% of the New England players who go out west to play Jr's end up in New England for college. Total win-win.

For a guy who came in so hot, you are pretty out of touch with current events

Re: Will Islanders, Kings, Bandits, etc cost over $4k next year?

Correction. Generals are not a Tier 2 team. They are a team that plays in that league. 0-11, -39 on season. Will be booted at end of season or sooner.

Re: Will Islanders, Kings, Bandits, etc cost over $4k next year?

lot of misinformation in this post...first off league is happening whether it is succesfull or not only time will tell..the Generals are in the nahl

Re: Will Islanders, Kings, Bandits, etc cost over $4k next year?

These teams will keep the initial costs under $4k so they can say that they are reasonable. Then they add in bags, jackets, sweats, etc, it will be close to $5k. Don't kid yourselves, they are selling an expensive dream and exploiting kids for the cash.... Not nice people.

Don't you think Trump's man love for Putin gets us closer to a Russian autocratic state than HRC would?
