They start at BA, go to high school and play a year or two and go back to BA and then BA get's them college and junior teams that the high school never helps with. So BA creates them so I think they kind of belong to BA. Any players that stay for 4 years are a bonus for the high school.

Re: Boston Baked Beans

Makes no sense why they would sacrifice the team chemistry and unity in the middle of the season and single out 3-4 players to not go to this tournament. The decision to destroy the confidence of 9-10 year olds and make them endure their friends and teammates talk about it in the locker room while they are not going doesn't sit well with me. What is more important, the November weekend in Chicago or the 6 month season that you just jeopardized?

Are you crazy ??? jeopardize team chemistry ???? and not let the top kids from each organization form a great team so that they can go play the best other kids in the country at that age group, so 3-4 kids on thier team dont get their feelings hurt ??? Destroy their confidence ??? This may be the craziest thing i have read on here yet !

So the 9-11 year old is not going to be the player they are because some of their teammates are "all stars" and they are not....maybe they realize that they need to work even harder and get better in a few years WHEN IT REALLY MATTERS !!

Re: Boston Baked Beans

The tourney is not the best teams from across the country. Yes there are good teams in the tournament. Teams that BBB 9 times out of 10 they will never beat them bc these teams play together year round while BBB is selected and then they enter the tourney. It's more of a money grab and marketing ploy for the Lovell program. The experience will be fun for the kids.

If they wanted to win the tourney they would need to hold a tryout for kids from all programs and have a series of practices. This would give them a real shot to win the tourney and to create a nationally and Canada known brand similar to the Honey Baked program, Team Comcast (now Virtua) or the Pens etc... if you have been to Ontario these are the programs the Canadians know bc of performance / results.

Agreed, kids know who is going and who isn't which can make the dynamics of team chemistry very difficult. Really surprised both teams aren't going. The results will be the same as there is no team chemistry with the BBB team.

Yes, he does. His son didn't get selected and this gentleman and his wife feel he is a better player than the coaches kids who did get selected for the BBB team.

you could just answer the question or shut you mouth instead of being an ass hat. What do you care if someone is asking a question. Stop being a loser on the Dboard thinking your funny when your a grown adult who cant bully anyone face to face anymore because that would require actual balls.

They are kids and will get over it. It is also a great learning experience for your child so they learn the importance of hard work and how to push themselves to make the best teams. While the selection process is clearly flawed. Kids now have something to work towards all year long with that being the goal of making the BBB team.

Is this similar to the Brick team? How much does it cost and when are tryouts?

BBB = $ grab

You're setting a great example for your kid. What's next? You didn't make Varsity because the coach is a jerk, you didn't get the job because the interviews are unfair....Johnny Jr is in for quite the upbringing!!

It's all rigged folks, everything. The whole thing is a disaster, a disaster. Sad!!

Re: Boston Baked Beans

I see that the 04 BBB team is in the Bauer Invite - Elite division. Guess the results will show how well that roster was put together.

How were these players selected? A few players on my sons team were not selected that clearly should have been. It's also strange that every coaches kid was selected.

Haha true! It's BA kids minus the bottom of the roster plus coaches' kids from a couple of other teams. The kids will have a blast but the process is highly suspect - some really good players staying home and some questionable players taking a trip to Chicago! As long as your check clears I guess...

Some of the top BA Players opted not to go so if you and your lil Johnny were asked a day or two after everyone else then you were selected by default. Heard the uniforms are pricey.

Re: Boston Baked Beans

500 bucks for uniforms? No thx!

Re: Boston Baked Beans

They don't go TL is dodging the competition. They create a tourney team it is a money grab. To all the kids that are going to this tourney have fun, play hard and listen to your coach.

Re: Boston Baked Beans

Please tell me that there are no AI or 95G's on the 06 team. It should be 60% BA and 40% LK. If any from AI or 95G's made the team then it is a complete joke!! BA and LK's are ok but agree this makes little sense. Why not send both teams?

There is 1 player from 95Gs and 1 player from AI. Sorry your kid got cut.
