If you played 11 games and your team record is 4w-1L-6t.Why aren't they winning? Coach??
Depends on why they're not turning those ties into wins. If it's because the coach plays the top two lines and D pairings the majority of the game and as a result the kids are gassed in the 3rd period and can't finish a game, than yes that would be the coach. If it's because the same few kids are constantly in the box and you're playing half the game a man down, then it's probably the coach if he's not addressing it, but the parents of the offenders need to step up and take some of the responsibility as well and help get the kid in line. If you're playing clean games with all three lines and the 5/6 D-men rolling out on a regular basis, then the team probably is what it is and may need a few upgrades for next season to turn the ties into wins. Parents of the offenders need to step up.. wtf planet are you from? The parents? Should they tell the kids to pass and shoot more, or skate harder? Parents? Really?
You obviously answered your own question! It took two minutes to figure out who you are talking about:
Greater Boston Vipers 11 4 1 6 14 28 26
I know this team, played them last yeas. This team floats the little kids 2/3 of the game so essentially you are playing shorthanded the entire game. It is a horrible way to coach, it only emphasizes wins without development. Your coach is cheating your kids.
You are better off losing while learning the correct way than cheating the game and winning on fluke plays. You are free to get defensive and angry with me but if your entire was taught how to play the correct way, muscle memory would kick in and everyone would be prepared to come up big when the team really needs them to.
PS This team thinks because the had a couple of elite players on the team 2 years ago that trampled everyone they were well coached, again they cheated the rest of the kids and the players left behind are not prepared to play the game.
Any coach running two lines at this level should be removed immediately

Lol. If I was a betting man, I'd say the angry drunk guy that chimed in at 10:39pm was probably the original poster. Guy done blew his top in response to parents needing to step up if children their are behaving badly on the ice. In response to that guy, you can't yell at your kid to skate harder if he's sitting in the box half the game making the rest of the team play catch up. I agree with last poster. Good youth teams can't and won't win consistently playing with 2 lines. If that's the case with the team in question, than I think you have your answer.
So it's the coaches fault? He put the team together!!
Man, there is some serious coach hating going on on the board this year! Scary! And it's not even Halloween yet. If what we're being led to believe about this coach/team is true, than yes, I think you've got a legitimate grip with the coach. But we're still not letting angry drunk guy off the hook. If your kid is part of the problem by racking up 2-3 selfish penalties a game, you as a parent need to tell him knock it off, even if the coach won't. He can stand beside you on the glass and you can bond for a game or two until he gets the message. And please let us know who those ties are going! Funny stuff.
Why would the parent say anything? His kid goes to the box by himself after the penalty when his line goes out he's on the ice with them. The coach should pull the kid and bench him a shift or two for stupid penalties.
A Coach coaching 13-year-old should just roll the lines. Especially if he picked the team!
well if the parent is all 'great game' after little ralphy gets a hat trick then yes the PARENT also needs to tell him to knock off the crap if he is racking up the penalties.
no wait, the parents and players get the credit when they win and the coaches fault when they don't. love club hockey.
You concerned about your kid being on a winning team or your kid getting better? I've seen teams lose most games in a season and win most games in a season. Being a 500 team at that age is fine. Worry about winning when they get to Varsity because for most that's where it counts cause that's the end of the road. So sit back and enjoy it
You really think it matters? Any of this? The wins...the losses? First of all a majority of you clueless parents will be lucky if you see your kid play for their local highschool let alone a legitimate program... I'm not talking about the god **** catholic schools that everyone gets hard over... I'm talking about real prep or junior hockey... get a clue you ass hats and enjoy the small amount time you have left to watch your kid play.
Whiny ***** dads that have no clue... go talk to him yourself and stop complaining about the coach... your kid is the one who you need to look at. Is he working hard is he commited does he go in a CORNER... I'm guessing your superstar tier 1 player gets exactly what he should... a nice spot on the bench. Get a clue you half ass townie and let the fn coach do his job... you loved him when you signed that contract last spring didn't you... go drink in the parking while your wife wears those yoga pants she knows I love
You pay three grand for tier1 Hockey the coach should let everyone play! Obviously the coach can't close the game or finish it so just let everyone play.
when does 500 mean not winning? What do you want? Doesn't mean anything anyway. You sound like the parent who shops his kid around every year for a winning team. That does not mean your kid will play or get better just because they are on a winning team
The original poster/parent asked why weren't they winning. It's the coaches fault. Double shifting at the end of the game the lines are gassed because he's not using his bench.
The original poster asked why aren't they winning?
He probably wouldn't mind if they lost half the games at least his kid would be playing.
you people are quick to judge about a team that ties games. what if they are coming back from behind to tie games. That shows they are working hard and refuse to lose - i would think.. they might not be blowing leads did you ever think of that. plus if you look at all the tier 1 03 teams in the black division most of the teams have 3 or more ties. Why dont you rip them apart also?
