what is wrong with these parents?.. let their kids lost 15 games in a row and gave 103 goals vs 13 for. just to say they are playing E9... instead of let their kids have fun and compete in the BHL.. Case of abuse... Pretty sure they did not ask their kids what they want... BTW Coach wanted to go down because he knows hockey but parents refused
they are but they could have asked like Seacoast last year to play in the BHL American. Seacoast did it right. They developped, rebuilded and are back in E9 this year as middle of the pack team. They compete and belong. The Rangers does not help our kids because they can't compete so it is waste of time to play them. Frustration bring cheap shot also...
Yes, the Rangers are an automatic bid but they can decline the bid if they want. It's been done before with other organizations and I think other Rangers elite teams dropped down to the BHL this year too after the season started. I don't get why they would keep the kids in that situation. It's pretty obvious they're not going to be very competitive this year. They'd be better off playing a more competitive BHL schedule.
They are bad, they are 89 of 92 tier 1 teams in the country. After a combined score of 18-0 in two games this weekend they will drop further. Would be great if they made the right choice for the kids and dropped down but they didn't and so this is a lost season. For them and the teams that have to play them.
The shame of it is, they didn't really have to choose to play down, they could have opted to play in instead. Then they would have been placed where they belong. In other words, they had a pretty good compromise option if there were opposing views pre-season on where this team belonged. Mismanagement, plain and simple.
But the organization can always fall back on "being an E9" team, sounds much better then being a BHL team for the organization, regardless of the record.
Organizations want the most teams possible in the E9, and they don't really care about the records or effect it has, because it makes the organization look better from the outside.

Breakaway and it's ownership is a complete joke. There are mice running around the lobby and the locker rooms. There are holes in the locker room walls. The bathrooms make South Station bathrooms look like an operating room. The ice is the worst in New England. The pro shop is never open - God forbid you need a last minute sharpening. There are massive creases between the ice and the zamboni doors that are prime for a torn ACL or worse. Last week neither of the zamboni's would start so the ice couldn't be cleaned between practices.
Forget about wins and losses, the fact that they have kids spending time in that dump is a disgrace. The owners should be ashamed and the Board of Health should shut the place down.
All that for low price of over $3K for our son to play there....
